Nope, only letters and numbers. Also, our DNS servers are not specified on our Router(with DHCP).

Nit sure if this is my problem: I'm not setting any DNS in my task sequence. Should I be doing this?

Hello, For the past few weeks, I have been on and off trying to get MDT to automatically domain join. I've had anything but luck. I have tried using multiple PowerShell scripts with no joy. Offline Domain Join does not seem to be working. I would really appreciate your help. I'm running: Windows Server 2016 Windows 10 1703 Image MDT 2013 Update 1

Yes. Then I place the new default profile into \\server\sysvol\scripts\Default User.v6

We just redirect it and use a custom start layout with nothing in it.

How do you do an AD Domain Join if you don't mind me asking.

Not had that problem here. Were just creating the default profile as if it was a mandatory but we don't rename ntuser.

We're installing NaroCAD instead of AutoCAD this year. It's free and does most of the same stuff.

It's my home network just serving media and some docs. It's quite small.

We don't use an Edge firewall. Although we have client firewalls provided by our Antivirus. The server has a set IP Address through DHCP but still dosent work.

When I leave the gateway or DNS servers blank it does not go on the network at all and generates a random IP on a different subnet. I could use Windows Firewall but not sure what to configure.

I am trying to sort out a Windows Server 2008 box and I would like to kick it off the internet but have it remain on the local network so we can use file sharing. The machine is very old but we are keeping it for the time being. The IP Address it uses is assigned by DHCP. I have tried setting the IP on the adapter itself but it then forgets the gateway and goes away on some random IP Address. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. We have 1 GPO to deploy software through. 2. Were running students and staff with local profiles and folder redirection and it's fine.

We are using Local profiles for both Staff and Students. Although, I am looking at using Mandatory profiles soon.

I've found that they are becoming worse in the last few years. The support is not as good.

Is it possible to set home folders through Group Policy. I know I can do it for all users on a computer but not sure how to set it when students and staff have different locations for their home folders.
