Job Title: 3rd Line Support Specialist
Hours of work: 40 hours per week
Location: 2 Red Lion Square, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 4LS (travel to schools and offices will be necessary)
Reporting to: Senior IT Manager
Summary of role:
3rd Line Support of the Thomas’s network infrastructure in five schools and two offices and also assisting the Data and Content Manager with the Thomas’s MIS and TLP(VLE).
This is a support role to the Thomas’s IT Managers with their daily duties. A willingness to be trained in any of the areas below that are not up to the required standard.
Key roles and responsibilities
3rd Line Support of the following
Server rooms/Comms Rooms
Server and switch racks
Cabling and patching
Switches
Storage
WiFi Networks
VOIP Telephones
Backups
iSAMS Management Information System/Database
Firefly VLE System/Database
Writing of custom reports by manipulating data from iSAMS
Experience, qualifications and technical skills required:
Desired skills and experiences
MCSE
Mac OS Server setup and maintenance
MS Windows Server 2008 and 2012
MS SQL Server
VMWare
Backup technologies and procedures
SAN and Storage solutions
Switch technologies and configuration
VLANS
Routing
VOIP
Previous database administration work experience
Familiarity with SQL and SSRS
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Meeting deadlines
Excellent command of the English language in both written and verbal communications
Customer service
Attention to detail
Team player who can work independently
Highly Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
