  1. Glad I'm not alone then Yeah as you say it's seemingly random too in a class full of kids maybe 2 or 3 are affected then next lessons it could be 20 or none.
  2. I have a bit of an odd problem so was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or had come across something similar before. I've had a lot of students not being able to save their files within Office - mainly Excel and Powerpoint 2013 so far. They'll goto the save tab and clicking 'Browse' does nothing so they can't choose where to save their work. What usually fixes it is going to File-Open then clicking Browse and the user can see their home drive and files, then they can return to the save dialog and try browsing again and it generally works. As I've said though this doesn't always fix it, and the only other option seems to be to setup their OneDrive and save to that instead. The Office GPO for students did have their home drive as the default save location, I recently turned that off to see if it had any effect but no it's still occurring so I've turned it back on now. I've also added their home drives as Trusted Locations.
  3. Had similar issues yesterday too, unplugging the Promethean Whiteboards and then retrying login worked (which gets rid of the Security Button login prompt) for me. Hopefully the patch will fix it properly now though.
  4. If it's any consolation I'm facing a similar problem on Windows 7. It stems from I think students turning High Contrast mode on, but when you come to turn it off some of the settings remain, leaving white text on a white background isn't very useful though. Haven't found an easy way of fixing it yet either so I've come here looking for help/suggestions.
  5. I'm looking for something similar, just something showing tweets from an account. Best I've come across so far is tweetmonsters.com and visibletweets.com. Would like an amalgamation of these (ie one that shows images and doesn't need to be logged in). Surely someone here can whip something up??
  6. Seems to have worked with Office 2010 but not on a workstation that has 2013 installed
  7. Thanks for that. We're supported by the LEA but they haven't got back to me yet (only been 2 days so far) so thought I'd look into it myself. Deployed via Solus 3 so will let you know if it works or not.
  8. Anyone have any thoughts on why the 'Remove Report Sections that contain no Results' will have stopped working on Individual Reports that ran fine last year?
  9. Yep - just links to same page.
  10. We're planning on changing our user e-mail addresses to a new domain. Currently Moodle (v2.7) is using ldap to auenthicate (and create) it's users using the e-mail address property as the username (as we already had manual accounts with the SAM account names when implementing the ldap and didn't want to confuse the old and new accounts). Anyway as I said we're planning on changing domains and therefore our AD users will be getting a new mail attribute. With the new usernames moodle just creates a new user ignoring [email protected], how do we go about making sure that user@newdomain is the same moodle user as before? Make sense?
  11. I've just come across this problem today, did you ever figure it out? Not sure why/what happened but after the 3rd restart on the client it finally made an appearance under Pending Devices.
  12. I enjoyed reading the Amazon reviews earlier, sounded very similar to your comment hallb. I'm guessing this camera on a stick has been in a cupboard for a while for a reason but this teacher came across it and would like to use it, seems to be working 'ok' at the moment.
  13. Thanks both, yes the update looks like the full package, annoyingly Google led me to that site this morning but to a different visualiser without the software links.
  14. First of all sorry for dragging up such an old thread but does anyone have a copy of the Easi-View software they could send to me? A teacher has just presented me with one of these from a bygone era (obviously without the installation cd) and expects me to make it work. I've spoken to someone at TTS who said they'd send me a link but that has yet to come to fruition so thought I would try here.
  15. Yeah that was my 1st solution but thought I'd try and 'improve' the system to not have the problem again. I've now removed xml from the Blocked list but still the files are being blocked in the web app.
  16. I just came across this problem and had run the command to add xml to the allow list (where it appears, but it also still appears in the block list) but the files are still being blocked in e-mails.
  17. Maybe you could post the instructions for others anyway (mainly the staff common area bit)
  18. Sorry to drag this up from some time ago (but that's what search is for right!) but anyway, I've just created a Calendar user in AD and waiting for that to sync over with 365. Is it just a case of setting the 'personal' calendar of this user up then having other users add it to their calendars or is there a way I can force this calendar to show for every user in the school. I also need a Staff Only calendar how do I stop kids viewing this one, 365 sees my AD security groups but I don't see how/where I can use these online, so apart from choosing each user individually how do I sort out access to this calendar?
  19. Just wanted to add that Papercut has been good for us as well (haven't tried the others). We just paid the one-off cost a few years ago and while it's not necessary (yet) and if funds allow we'll probably pay again in 1-2 years to get the newer version. Prices aren't too bad; PaperCut Education Pricing - Schools, Colleges, Universities - PaperCut
  20. And what's different about the Edu version?
  21. Yeah our network is flat, while some from the LA said we shouldn't be running like that it was the LEA that set it up in the first place. Teachers logon to the curriculum server and have access to SIMS.
  22. If that fails to help you could always put multires on a server and create some (logon) scripts to set the resolution to whatever you desire.
  23. Cheers for that - I did some of that before I left this evening - I'll follow what you said tomorrow. And to all those concerned don't worry I didn't lose anything important as the backups were fine. Just wanted to sort this out for the future so I know which teacher to shout at/ridicule.
  24. Yeah thought auditing would be necessary, will turning it on slow things down at all/much? Just had a look at it now, do I just add the Network Shares to the list of audited 'files' on the group policy for the dc(s)? And is it in Event Viewer where I'd find details of what's gone on then?
  25. Nope (needed a few extra chars to post so here's some)
