Most DSLR's have a maximum recording time of 30 minutes, so wouldn't recommend going that way for video. Agree that 4k is a bit excessive for most things at the moment, but if you go for a wider shot in 4k there's always capacity to crop it down in post to give you "zoomed in" shots that are still 1080 quality.

I would normally agree - this is a £600 projector on a special deal. Depends on which way the OP wants to go in the future - simply providing an alternative option. If the budget was bigger I'd say go laser - we do on all our big spaces now, otherwise I still think a lamped projector is the way to go as my experience of LED has been less than amazing.

I'd look at GoPro's. Simple to use, can take a fair beating and decent quality footage. iPads by comparison are fragile, have lots to distract away from the task in hand and will always get used in portrait orientation....

+1 for TopTec. Although we don't have the same situation you do, their kit is about as secure as you can get and withstand a fair amount of abuse! Or have the PC's in a secure cupboard and have VGA / HDMI over Cat5 to the monitor, with USB as well, effectively giving them a dumb terminal? User experience will be the same, just removes the base unit from the equation.

We have a mix of interactive boards and screens, interestingly the non-interactive screens we have all have finger marks all over them suggesting they want interactivity!

Echo the cable arguement here. We've had SMARTboards go down while using Lindy USB > Cat 5 extenders (powered), replaced with a direct cable and they work fine. We're now trying the Lindy active USB ables https://www.lindy.co.uk/cables-adapters-c1/usb-c449/15m-usb-2-0-active-cable-type-a-to-b-p9291 and these seem to be working well so far on all interactive kit, be it a screen or SMARTboard.

I'd have a gander at the Behringer B112W - bluetooth, XLR output and LOUD. I hate recommending Behringer but their kit isn't too bad these days and I'd use it over Pulse any day.

Also no shadow puppets as people walk in front of the board. Update your risk assessments for classrooms to include blindness by looking direct into a projector lamp - lots of new screens because of H&S??

a) Go outside and have a word with yourself. Unless you have an automixer that sounds like a nightmare - not something I would be looking forward to! b) Private school? I'd be pushing for a Ch 38 / 39 system and having proper RF transmitters. If you really want 16 channels this is the way to go IMO!

Ah - we don't leave the remotes with the screens, rather use RS232 panels with them. But good to know!

That's a fair price for 75" - about what we pay for Iiyamas. But that's inc. VAT! The price hike is at the 70" point - 65's are quite cheap in comparison.

What size are the tango screens? That seems very steep!

My preference is screens, laser projectors then lamp projectors in that order. Notice LED projection doesn't even get a look in! Perhaps in the short term replace your Epsons like for like, then start a rolling programme of screen upgrades. You'll soon have a small stock of old projectors to replace ones that die for a few more months / years as the screen programme continues....

Cheap style wall plates available here - sure you could ask for the blank feature to freeze instead? (Freeze is available via RS232) Note - I'm not recommending them as I've never used them, just saying they're available. I truly believe you buy cheap you buy thrice in this world!

RS232 is the way to go. We use Extron panels but there are loads out there to choose from - they start quite cheap. If I find a cheap one I'll post it here!

That's a pretty good purchasing system you've got - ordering anything like that would take at least a week for me!

Probably because they're releasing a box set of all The Goodies episodes - they were on Radio 2 yesterday plugging it! The Thumps are ok for a plastic enclosure. I used to run 2 pairs of SRM450's which were nice, but as the ELX112 is a wooden enclosure it's always going to sound better from the off. I also prefer passives, keep the amp away from prying fingers and no annoying LED's in the auditorium!

I've used the ELX112 many times - still do. Great sounding cab for the money, lots of EV dealers should you need to replace anything (you won't) and a nice match for your current setup (just set your amp to half way and let everything breathe!) If you're in the South West I can recommend a few hire houses that have these in stock - and may be interested in selling you a pair!
