Evening all. Special events in cover. Just can't figure this out! We have y12 internal exams mid-Nov and I need to block out roughly a period a day and add invigilators accordingly. I have tried to set up a special event, with a code, and then arranged the date, period, main staff, room and number of extras I need but it won't show in cover. Any thoughts anyone? Many thanks.

Evening all. New to Bromcom and not quite done all the training yet, but being asked the inevitable questions by management. Basically, when cover is set, is there a way to download or email it out to all staff. Our management want cover to be seen by all staff, not just those who have been assigned it. Any offers gratefully received!

Evening all. We had this problem a while back. Capitas last shot at resolving this was for us to tell parents to delete the app from their phone, download it again and then re-register once we have sent another invitation email. Apparently (according to Capita), the problem is that parents can't remember which platform - Facebook, Google, etc, they logged in with and when they try a different one it doesn't work. We have suggested this method to several parents and the feedback tells me that it has worked, but not in all cases. I fear user-issue is the main problem. Good luck, we have persevered with it.

Evening all, hope all are keeping well. We are looking at moving from a secondary school to being an all-through school from sept 22. We use SIMS as our MIS. Anyone got any advice, tips, suggestions in order to help make this process run smoothly? Also, we use Nova for timetabling - do we have to add reception and year 1 to the Nova scheme. Struggling to find/take-in advice elsewhere. Much appreciated.

ABSOLUTELY. I'm so pleased to see this. We have been having problems for at least the last 3 weeks where parents try to log in and keeping being told they need an activation code. These are users that have been using it regularly for 2 years. It is becoming embarrassing having to explain to parents that I have no control over this. Logged the usual support call with Capita to be told that it is parents using the wrong email address. THEY CAN'T ALL BE WRONG. We have had too many complaints about this and I won't be fobbed off.

Evening all, and an early happy new year to you. Just wondered if anyone can advise me on working out the cost per lesson for teaching staff on Power Bi. I've think I have confused myself. I thought it would be "total staff cost" divided by "lesson teaching hours". Is that right? We have the added complication that our lessons are 50 minutes long. The cost is coming out per lesson in the thousands! Does that sound right?? Any thoughts welcome, as always.

I know you have to change a box to allow parents to approve, but do you need to get students to register as they did before, or is it just the parents registered for the app that will do the trick? Evening all. Having a mental block - those "once a year" jobs. For the life of me I can't remember how to get our new year 7s to show up in academic management so that I can timetable them. I know I've done it in the past but just can't remember how. Is it something to do with their admissions status? I've got the group set up in a pre-admissions group, as usual, but can't get them to show for timetabling. Any help will be gratefully received. Cheers.

Evening all. I need some help please. Have been lumbered with doing the GCSE results analysis next week (poor exams officer been stitched up like a kipper). I have built a spreadsheet to calculate the points for the GCSEs and BTECs, but am stuck on the double sciences, with no member of management available or able to help. Basically, what points do you award a double grade?? Simple question, I know, but I have confused myself. For example how many points would a 9-9 get, then a 7-7 etc?? Do you award a single figure, then time is by 2??? Any help gratefully received.

Evening. We had the same issue with running out of space. I set up comment A and comment B columns, then the individual report was set to pick up both. If nothing was in the comment B box then nowt appeared. Yes bobsmith, I agree about the word documents. Pointless.

Evening all. My timetabler has posed a question and I can't find the answer (had this issue before some years ago and can't remember the solution). She would like to import the timetable after Easter into SIMS but only wants to show the structure, banding and classes, but NOT, absolutely NOT the staff assigned to the classes - for obvious reasons. Is there a way to do this. Any replies gratefully received.

Afternoon all. Does anyone have an opinion on how realistic FFT targets are please? We are looking to use FFT for the first time from September and have looked at the targets they set. Do they change through the year??? Are the targets realistic in terms of grades achieved in GCSEs. How do you go about setting targets for BTECs? Any advice gratefully received.
