  1. Yes it will and more importantly I CAN'T DO MY JOB without it...
  2. Virgin business direct for multiple leased lines and no issues for many years. You need to sort your own firewall + filtering though. FortiGate and Securely is my choice.
  3. I'm not a smoothwall user but I imagine you'll need to add the source/destination into the firewall rules and static routes, if you haven't already?
  4. We have one Net2 server running for multiple sites, as long as the sites are connected together just add the controllers to one server as kierans says. I'm not quite sure what the difference is between Paxton 10 and the normal net2 server and using he Paxton connect app. Does anyone know, do you not need the server and the controllers connect to 'the cloud'? Are new controllers needed? **update didn't see above replies answering my questions**
  5. Replication to another host can be a good option. We don't warranty any of our servers, all the VM's are replicated so if there was a host failure the replica could be booted up swiftly. The money saved on warranties would then be used to repair/replace failed host.
  6. You need to register for Google Workspace (free), sync your users from AD/AAD, setup Entra SSO, configure the devices policies, install Chrome Flex on the device, enterprise enroll them (each device needs a £30ish license) and off you go. A bit of work to get setup but then your laughing. Helps if your users already make good use of O365 on the web.
  7. We have started using Trelson and find it excellent to be honest.
  8. I think the only problem here is the managements competency/attitudes and you can't fix that. The only option imo is to move on when it suits you and leave them too it.
  9. I'd be interested in which company you use that supports FreePBX? I only know of VOIPON in the UK.
  10. I've been using Securly for almost a year and hardly ever have to contact support as it just works, but when I have someone has always emailed or phoned me swiftly and resolved the issue. Could it be its not been setup correctly as per their best practices? From looking at a couple of other schools implementation of it, most issues seem to be down to this, which is something Securly could improve on (the onboarding process), how well it's setup is down to the customer and how well they read the guides and follow best practice.
  11. So are we, setup Entra SSO so users sign in with their O365 account and then use O365 for the web to work in. Once you've deployed the devices you'll never see them again they'll be so reliable, updating themselves and just working. Its a whole new world honestly.
  12. We have converted all ours to Chrome flex and they work brilliantly.
  13. So if there is no firewall available you wouldn't be able to use modem mode, the homehub would have to do the firewall & routing duties. Assuming its a flat network I would change the default 192 ip range to match that of the current range, disable DHCP, and set the securly DNS forwarders on your windows DNS server. Ideally the BT connection would have a static ip. And you don't have any VPN's or anything like that to worry about or IP based conditional access policies or IP based SIP registration? I'd take a careful look at the default firewall rules and settings and ensure anything unneeded is removed/disabled and apply caveat about using SOHO equipment in enterprise environment.
  14. What firewall are they using? You can put the homehub into modem mode and let it pass the internet connection through to the firewall as I would assume the current connection is?
  15. Sweeping academies reform proposed in children's bill
  16. I've not used the cloud controller, only the onsite one and I noticed that most SSID changes do kick everyone off the wifi for a few minutes. I assumed this was normal, not sure. The ticket response obviously makes no sense. Could it be something to do with your web filtering?
  17. Most bathrooms fans would be powered from the 5A/6A lighting circuit through one of those bathroom fan isolator switches which are not fused. So technically not adding a FCU would have been against the manufacturer instructions so maybe they removed it for that reason, as adding one would add unnecessary work/expense. Probably the same with the lights, no need to add a FCU if on a lighting circuit.
  18. Are you typing the LAN IP of the draytek?
  19. Anything not picked up from the browser extension drops onto the default policy via DNS.
  20. Another +1 for Securly, we use the browser extension for all managed devices and it works fine. I've not logged many support requests but I've found the ones I have resolved quickly. YouTube has always been a pain I've seen multiple other venders struggle to control it, but the browser extensions are currently not effected only smartpac & DNS. I've seen the captcha thing pop up occasionally but nothing to cause a nuisance. We only use filter so can't comment on the other modules.
  21. Do they have a good business case for wanting a macbook, ie it can do something the other two OS's can't?
  22. I see Inventry as very much the SIMS of the visitor/staff/student management system. But still seems well liked (by those who do not have deal with it's issues). +1 for Sign in App.
  23. Would you never want to use the 'play on all speakers' option?
  24. I've picked up the google home speakers off ebay for about 20 quid in good condition if that's an option.
  25. Redstor, no complains, works well.
