Rather than go into a long painful story, ill just say this in the end because we run as a conference site at our school and we have times when BYOD users were using our guest internet services and technicians were not on site we specifically got to the point where we asked SB to allow us to use the Fortigate Filtering for our BYOD SSID's because while they could set NS to work with specific filtering for the SSID , there are some devices that require "additional" configuration to work with netsweeper aka editing settings on certain devices to point at the proxy manually. i have said to SB that imo at the moment its best to offer customers access to the Fortigate filters for BYOD if they have similar issues to ours, the bone of contention is that this adds load direct to the centralised Fortigates they use, so too many people using these instead of NS could cause them issues. I have remained quite silent on this point, but i have decided moving forward that while NS im sure will work out in the end, that im likely going to go full onsite fortigate filtering in the near future, ive been chatting to a couple of guys in the US and UK who are using full onsite fortigate and while there are risks as with everything we do this seems like a good option, i know that local lightspeed and smoothwalls are options to but i quite like the forticloud suite. i forgot to say that despite what people may think of SB, at the end of the day they do try very hard to get things working but the support team are often i feel overwhelmed especially due to all these migrations, im sure again in time this will calm down, cant reccomend Jamie in second line enough hes super helpful as is Nathan. Despite all these issues the SB prices for broadband are still very competitive. so im not saying jump ship at all! -

ive created a list of things that we had to sort with SB after our migration, if you have some of these it may be worth checking they are all functioning after you are done. >ParentPay >Cashless Catering (CRB) >4Matrix >Various Sims Syncs (Parents Evening System, Showmyhomework etc.) >Outlook Connections (Believe this is resolved for all schools now) >O365 Connections >Gapp Connections >Lightspeed Next >Various CDN's not detected by the NS logger (Pinterest, Usethekey, PIXL etc.) >Apple MAC Filtering AD/OD Based. >RDWeb Feeds We are currently using Fortigate Filtering for our BYOD setups and bypassed NS completely as NS requires users to make specific changes on certain Android Devices (See the SB proxy cheat sheet) to have seemless filtering and thats a no go for us as our BSF school and its wireless is rented out after hours, during the holidays as conference centre so the techs are not here to configure phones/tablets etc. Also had to create a specific PAC file i linked earlier as well. -

Take screenshots of your lightspeed setup you may need them good luck and double check you have access to the loggers with support. on a side note anyone had any issues with netsweeper blocking their rd webfeeds internally>? cant see anything in the logger, got it logged with SB but thought i would ask -
Well the thing is Griff we dont know what the exact reasons are, and as customers now we dont know what to believe? but i have a feeling this is going to get uglier, considering the disruption schools have had with SB and the Netsweeper change and the damage to Lightspeeds repuation here and elsewhere to. SB do need to work on their support but i met Dave at BETT and he seemed genuine about wanting to solve the issue in support and with the migrations. Nope going to have to watch and wait.

Thats a shame i think you should of had it from the off Fiza i thought they had granted that to everyone! word of warning though the logger does not capture everything we have found, weve had to inspect the source code of the websites at times to see which CDN's may be getting blocked for certain sites. Best of luck in getting it sorted!
