  4. Thanks both, i appreciate your feedback - do you mind if i ask if these are primary or secondary environments?
  5. Morning all, I'm looking at moving our Trust onto SIMS Connected over the next few months. Not having to deal with SOLUS and quarterly updates, and staff not having to use a VPN to connect from home to complete work would have quite the big positive impact on our users and IT team. I'm interested in any feedback from schools who made the move from SIMS to Connected, and if it has been a success, or if there any regrets etc. Many thanks
  6. Morning all, We've been a partner with Dell for the last 10 years or so, and through the most part it has been a fairly successful partnership. We have spent over 1.3m in the last 3 years alone with them across our Trust for our latest device refresh, however within the last 18 months their support has completely vanished and their education team seems to have been dismantled to a point where we feel stranded. Our account manager has been AWOL for 7 weeks, and escalations are all talk no action. Past behind, we're quite keen to explore what experience people have had working directly with Lenovo, including account manager support, and also their experience with on-site support (reliability and knowledge). Many thanks

  10. Not sure if this will help with the other Adobe products, however when i had an issue with Acrobat constantly asking to sign in i made the following change in regedit to resolve it; Open run box (WIN +R)> type regedit. Go to location [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\Activation] Right click and select New and Click on DWORD (32-bit) value Name It "IsAMTEnforced" and give the dword value “1”. You also have to delete IsNGLEnforced from the same location. If you see this file there.
  11. Hi all, We've had Dell OptiPlex9030 AIO machines for the last few years as our student machines - and we've got over 10 of them sat in the server room with cracked screens, as they are glass fronted. Over the years we've managed to get them replaced by dell out of warranty repairs however they just cant supply the part anymore. I've had limited success on eBay, but now we're finding blanks everywere. Just wondering if anyone has any spares, or know of anywhere that can source these bezels/LCD units that we can purchase? We are refreshing ICT soon but some of these machines will still be used so it will be nice to get them back into the classroom environment. Thanks

  14. They didn't have a stand (probably for the best this year), but their management team were having hosted leader meetings throughout the weekend.
  15. Had a very productive conversation at BETT and they were supportive and got the ball rolling with getting our issues sorted. Here's hoping to a better 2020.
  16. You're not alone in this one. Their "support" has really gone down the drain which is worrying if there were to be any major issues during service times. I haven't managed to get through to anyone via the phone since December. The only quick response i've had via email was when they wanted to charge us £300 for the Sync2 upgrade..
  17. Thanks for your reply! Yes, we use folder redirection on Start Menu, Favourites and Downloads. Its not enabled on Documents, so the username.domain path is usually just C:/Users/Username.Domain on the local PC. This happens on Office 13 and 16. To elaborate a little more on the issue, this tends to happen when a user moves PCs in a classroom after a few days. The issue will occur, and on login it will create the .domain profile (leaving their original normal profile above it) in C:/users. If they login to the same PC they usually use, their profile will load without issue. This also happens with staff way too often - say a cover supervisor who logs in around the school, she is often asking for support because she either has the temp environment issue on Outlook, or PowerPoint simply "cannot open *filename*". We can quickly fix this issue by deleting both local profiles in C:/Users, then going to ProfileList in regedt and remove their key, so it created a fresh profile, but it happens so often (nearly 3 times a day now) i'd love to try and get it fixed as its so frustrating for our staff. Its also worth noting that this issue occurs for select staff, and not everyone. Thanks for any further help anyone can provide!
  18. Just bumping this - still occurring. Anyone had the same?
  19. Hi all, We are using roaming profiles on windows 7 and are seeing more and more issues with student profiles. Students will work for a whole lesson and when it comes to saving they are sometimes prompted with a message "Word cannot open or save this file because the path name is too long", however the path they are saving is on the root of their documents.. We have been working around this by copying and pasting the work remotely and saving it for them in their areas, then doing a local and server profile reset which will fix the issue for the student. I have attached an image below of an example. We have around 860 students and this is happening approx 2 times a day, sometimes with the message "Word could not create the work file. Check the temp environment variable". We've noticed that this one happens regularly if students or staff move computers each time they login, and it created a separate local profile in the format username.domain. If anyone that has experienced the same issues could comment that would be great.

  23. I've used various but ABTutor is by far the best. And cheaper than other solutions.
  24. Are you up to date on the Windows updates? We had this issue last year and it was a rogue update that caused it on 50% of machines which we had to roll back.
