Thanks for your reply, It's not that I want to ruled out another platforms apart from Microsoft, it's because I don't think children are going to find IPads when they start working in the real world, IMO IPads are for entertainment and of course for many brilliant apps you can find for education, but besides that when you have to do serious work you use a Microsoft OS or a Mac OSX. We don't have the budget to buy apple products and to be honest I don't see the point in paying double to get the same result. So, my option is Microsoft OS. We have Tablets for children, Android and OSX, both, but for computing I still don't see the point in tablets. Neither I see Chromebooks as a good option in my school, O365 is our choice so adding G-Suit is not a good idea and without time for training staff and children is not an option for me, maybe in schools where IT staff are hired full time but I am a part time guy, no time at all. 100% agrees with you in that we need to expose to a wide range of devices and technology, but again, without the time (and low budget) of training staff is really difficult. I have tried before and the staff just ignore those technologies although they are so simple to use just because they haven't receive a 2 hours training. Sometimes I think this country is so bound to training, people stops using their brain to try to solve a problem just because it's not written in a piece of paper.

Hi everyone, I am looking for some ideas about devices meant for students in a Primary School. Currently we are using laptops, well it's 0k but I am thinking in moving to something more suitable for a kid's needs. The trend is moving to touchable devices easy to move and tough enough to last in a school environment. I am not for IPads or Chromebooks, my environment is based in Microsoft, Servers and Clients are running Windows OS, so I would like to keep running Windows OS and have every device domain-joined. I have found something that looks really interesting here, https://www.one-education.org/ and I am wondering whether you know of something similar here in the UK. As well I would like to read your implementations. Thanks.

Hola Julian, have you tried to deploy updates when they switch off the machine? Then they won't be doing any important task, just going home and leave the computer alone doing its business. This is how I manage W7, W10 updates on my school.

Ok, sorry for not being very clear. 1 - Create security group 2 - Add those computers to this security group 4 - Link the GPO to your OU 5 - Select the Policy and click on Delegation tab 6 - Click on Advanced 7 - Select Authenticated Users and untick "Apply group policy" on Allow column 8 - Add the group you have previously created and tick Allow : "Read" and "Apply group policy" 9 - Now your Scope / Security Filtering will show the group in which this policy is going to be applied I hope now is more clear.

Create a Group, add those computers to the group. Then in Delegation Tab untick authenticated user for being applied. Add the group and tick Read and Apply this policy. Restart one computer to be sure it takes the changes. gpupdate /force will do the same but you need to see if the change is made at the login stage, so I'd restart the computer. Authenticated User includes User/Computers joined to the domain but this is just to discard any User policy you may have messing around or a loopback enabled policy. It's worth to try and see if this makes any difference.

Create a group adding the computer you want this policy being applied and apply this policy to the group instead to Authenticated Users. (Assuming you are not doing this already, also assuming you are using Computer settings on the GPO)

Remote connection to a domain controller? Unless your DC is configured to only accept domain accounts. I think you can use Invoke command from powershell to connect to your DC using domain credentials, not sure.

When I upgrade my computer to 1803 Edu last week, my RSAT tool just disappeared, it seems 1803 didn't like it. Thinking about what @Oaktech has said. Try to rollback one computer to 1709 and give it a try, maybe is something with 1803 version. BTW I am still able to use Remote Desktop. I have had the same discussion. We have reach to an agreement eventually. We have bought memory sticks and encrypt them using BitLocker. These memory sticks will be used for a period of time (ending next 11th June), so staff has had the time to swap files from their own sticks to the school's sticks. After 11th June we are banning the use of any usb removal storage except the school's. I am using Device Control Policy in Sophos Enterprise Console. Our next move is banning these memory sticks and move to OnDrive / SharePoint. Some users are already using this services.

Are you using UNC path to pull the software? I mean \\server\share\....
