Should anyone else be having this issue which is not resolved by disabling SafeSites, out ADMX & ADML files on our domain controllers were quite dated. Updating these and migrating depreciated policies solved this problem for us.

We've just had an influx of users reporting the same issue with attachments in Chrome! I don't really want to disable SafeSites for obvious reasons and am awaiting a refresh to see if putting attachments.office.net into the exceptions list works, but now I'm not holding out much help. Works fine with Edge, but don't want to just tell users to swap browsers as that opens a whole other can of worms with our userbase. All other ideas very welcome...

I'm currently looking after a SIMS installation running on Win2008r2 and MS SQL 2014 in a large secondary school with between 80-100 concurrent SIMS users at any given time throughout the school day. I have read the recommended minimum spec for a server; however, am wondering if there are any benefits to running SQL on a dedicated VM and keeping the Capita app and numerous connectors (Teacher app, Inventry and about 6 others) on a dedicated MIS VM. Are there any tips, tricks for a successful migration that anyone would care to share?

We have a similar setup: - Staff names are forename initial+surname = jbloggs - Students are year group + form tutor + initials = 07abyz How would we differentiate them? Thanks in advance

We've just started using Virtualbox under Ubuntu to negate this very problem. We just revert to the original snapshot after each package build.

We've just removed the last RM client machines from our CC3 network. We've got mostly Acer laptops and PC's from Novatech - as long as you can get an NDIS driver for the network card and you load the drivers onto the build server the machines (mostly) build a treat. Watch out for PC's with built in card-readers as this tends to confuse the build disks, we've got a room of Acer PC's that have to have them physically removed for the duration of initial build phase.
