  1. Are there no Vista Business to XP Pro downgrade licenses except with a new machine? Theres a lovely machine I've found thats Vista Home Premium, but the vendor just sells them as is... No alternative OS's available. I've found the Vista Business Upgrade license I could use, but it says nothing about downgrade to XP Pro rights. SELECT Licensing doesn't allow downgrading does it? I wish Microsoft would just release ONE operating system. Windows. I'm getting tired of these multiple flavours.
  2. I'm looking at buying some new machines (non RM) and then building them for use on the RM CC3 network we have. Obviously RM CC3 uses XP Pro... So what suggestions are there regarding the purchasing of the machines. If I purchase a machine, do they have to have XP Pro and/or Vista Business on them? I'm a bit stuck in regards to the downgrade... The CC3 Licence obv. doesn't include XP Pro, but then, I don't think I can purchase XP Pro Licenses anymore can I? Am I stuck with purchasing from RM?
  3. You shouldn't be interviewing for a position that is going to end up line managing you. If you're good enough to come up with the questions for the post, you're good enough to apply for it... or to be promoted into it and have you be replaced.
  4. I would apply if I were you! Don't write up questions they ask only for them to not understand the responses. And never, EVER should anyone interview the person that is to become the line manager, thats just amazingly naive thinking on behalf of the person whose organising the panel.
  5. Hi, I'm an ICT Manager at a Primary School. We're due to have a raft of laptops being replaced in the next 6 to 8 months, and I'm looking at netbooks as a possible alternative to cheaper laptops to replace them. I'm personally looking at the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 as the replacement. The only problem being that I'd want to have Windows XP Professional / Windows Vista Business on the machine. Are Dell likely to respond to any requests, or am I going to have to buy seperate Vista Business licenses to do this? Does anyone have any recommendations on netbooks the kids might find handy?
