  1. Hi Peeps.... I'm new with ISA, I know the concepts etc....but never actually configured it. We have MOSS 2007 & Exchange 2007 and want SSO. We have SSL certs for both the mail and sharepoint servers. Currently I have one (virtual) machine running ISA 2006 with two internal facing NICS.... What setups do you guys run for your networks? Thanks, Matt.
  2. Well its not "large" Xen install - only 20 machines at the moment, but we have capacity for the moving the whole school across in the future (we have a cycle to follow of replacements) The day has been changed to the 24th JUNE
  3. Bungay High School are having an open day for IT Managers/techs to come along and look at Xendesktop/server in action etc..... Citrix will be there as will Getech (a company in Ipswich that specialise in Virtualisation) If your in the Norfolk/Suffolk area you are more than welcome to come and have a look/play Its on the Wednesday 17th June Please email [email protected] for more details
  4. Well they will be doing this every lesson as of september, but we are going to have a trial period over the remainder of this term to iron out any issues Before we start that I need a solution :noidea:
  5. Hello peeps I have what is I think going to be a massive headache over whats been an on going problem and headache between office/administration staff and those whom create the timetable..... Basically the senario is this We have a 6 period day registration lesson 1a lesson 1b break lesson 2a lesson 2b lunch registration lesson 3a lesson 3b hometime Problem we have is that Sixth Form have a general studies lesson during registration time for the rest of the school, meaning that the registration period needs to be classed as a lesson to assign a QAN code to it (for the school to get money from whomever) Thats worked fine for the past year although office staff do complain sometimes as it can become confusing........ With Lesson Monitor now about to be rolled out Live, im stuck in that the structure doesn't show up right and we end up with 3 registration periods? I've suggested we make the structure an 8 period day keeping the registration periods separate, but this is a no no Any help much appreciated
  6. Location: Chalfont House Chalfont St Peter SL9 0DZ Gerrards Cross (United Kingdom) Phone: +44 1753 276 303/305 Thats the main citrix education thingy place in the uk - speak with them and they should know all the testing centres in the uk :-D
  7. don't suppose your 2k3 is a DC? lol
  8. Don't really wanna rebuild the domain controller - I'm testing the Xen Converter which can convert a vm image to xen or take a physical machine and convert to xen - it only runs on disks that are basic and not dynamic and a few other niggly issues - nice to know about the vm converter though as thats another option
  9. Im actually now working on creating a VHD from a physical machine :-D wondering how a this all works and whether I can take an image of my DC etc....???
  10. Took me and a colleague several attempts to get Xenserver and Xendesktop running smoothly - follow the pdf install guides word for word and you'll soon get the grips of it :-D We are licensed for Xenapp - but not using it at the moment
  11. We use Citrix for desktops - and will be virtualising the servers we run....How you guys creating your virtual servers? are you building from scratch or taking an image of your existing servers? We run sharepoint heavily so to virtualise that and all the databases etc....would be some task lol
  12. Just do it through group policy on for the user node - when a kid logs on it will run the group policy and add the desktop - shouldn't affect performance dependant on how heavy the image is

    BSF & Norfolk

Im a human - although we have had the first phase meetings and i raised the question about it and BSF - we were given the papers from the government on the guidelines of what the LA should do - basically it is that the LA takes on the it centrally Meaning that all our fecking hard work is down the drain Got another 4 yrs before we have to worry though and with the current situation with money or lack of it and the government i doubt it'll happen anyway
  14. We (Bungay High School) won't be renewing our contract with E2BN - our main issue with them is we asked if we were able to open some ports to allow access to our sharepoint intranet site for staff and students.....answer back was no and to use uniservity - which is a whole load of crap which most of you are aware....so we are moving to a managed firewall solution using our own filter (bloxx) also saving many ££££ in doing so Uniservity have also confessed they can't and won't be able to access sims to give parents/staff/students information which is a requirement for 2010...Hense sims learning gateway based on sharepoint. What SCC are planning on doing to get around this i don't know? lol
  15. Hello, im new to here although been working in a school in suffolk for nearly a 1.5 yrs.....anyway...... We use Sharepoint for our intranet so decided to use it as our VLE - so created an website open to the world which then directs you to the intranet once you are logged in. Every student and teacher has their own mysite with their personal N:|drives pointing to the personal document library within mysite - this then enables them to access there work from home :-D There is also a shared area where staff can share files with one another. each department have their own subsite to which they can add more or less whatever they want (homework, tasks, calendar etc....etc...) We also have Uniservity - but not sure how much this is going to be used? lol Matt
