You don't use SATA for Critical/Production servers, they should be reserved for Desktop or backup servers. Your backup speed is what I would expect based on your hardware and setup. With a 10 disk Raid6 using SATA and 7.2RPM drive you looking at about 250 IOPS at 50/50 Read Write.

What module name/number of those drives that make up your RAID6? Physical size 2.5 or 3.5? SAS or SATA?

From what I understand your VMs have two VHDX attached to them, each placed in different Luns on the same Vdisk. And using Windows backup within each VM to back from one VHDX to other. What you have effetely done is having single Hard drive in a pc with two partitions copy all your file from C to D partition. Doing this on Raid6 is going to impact this further. If you want faster backups look at backing up from host utilising the VHDX Directly (Single Large File) vs 100k's+ little files within VM to same location. Second set the back destination to disks that not being used as the read source.

One big vdisk seem to be norm these days, it is how I've setup mine up. I'm don't fully understand the above. ODX enabled on host can course issues and as you said is not Supported under P2000 might be worth disabling it.

Am I right in thinking that your backing up to same SAN on the same vdisk? Do you do any further backing up from that to another device? Regarding your issue have you tried disabling ODX on the hosts? It enabled by default on Windows 2012 r2 see if that makes any difference.

My reseller told me my support is with HP, lesson learnt on that. I have pushed for a replacement SAN, but at this point I'm not confident this will resolve our on going issue as issue is point to serious firmware issue.

Hi We recently purchased a MSA 1040 SAN and been having huge issue with controllers failing. We have open support call with HP that was raised almost 4 weeks ago but we seem no closer to resolving this issue. Error is always the same "PCIE link recovery fail" I can see there is information on this error on the internet for much older SAN, but nothing for MSA 1040 or MSA 2040. Is anyone else having issue with these units? Has anyone got any ideas that might be able to help us? Thanks

HP has in the last 6 months brought out a replacement for P2000 G3, with the following G4 MSA 1040 and the MSA 2040.

Hi We will shortly be installing new NAS with Windows Server 2012 r2, and will be migration data from old NAS with Windows Server 2003. We would like to keep same server name as we have some programs that have data paths using the old NAS server name. What would be best practice to carry this out? Many Thanks Darren

Ahh what fought you might say that. Would be nice to see in a future update, the option to create multiple booking systems. So when you click on resource manager if you only have one booking system in place then it goes to the default, but if you created multiple booking system then when you click on resource manager then you get select booking system that been created. For us that would be Room booking, Camera Booking, and Flip Cameras Booking and so on to give it organise and simple as possible for staff, having all this under one booking sheet will be confusing to our staff. The other thing I’m not sure if it already possible is to view booking information without logging on.

On the next update, which has more updates on the booking system? I'm wondering would there be separated section for booking out cameras and projectors in it?

[sims] Installing Solus3 Agents manually - problems

Which LEA is this if you dont mind me asking, we in simular boat. but our LEA is pushing out solus3 from central server and not our sims server. I have seen that error but only when pushing out solus 3 when no one log onto computer. I need to spend more time on our install but I have put it on the back burner for time being, using old method to install summer update. -

Is there any known issue with a hyphen in a email address and the email puller. I have a member of staff that has hyphen in their email address and email does not get deleted after email puller picks it up. Not had any issue like that with any other members of staff. Will try and replicate the issue with newly created email address on Monday.
