Considering the vast amount of outdated Android phones in the wild that are internet facing and not behind a firewall I really don't think this is an issue, the main attack vector is malware laden apps in the Google Store. I would think the store is disabled or has a way to be controlled on these TVs ? If an attacker can see you're running an outdated version of Android you have far bigger concerns.

I've been ordering from Aliexpress for years, I tend to find if the value is over £5 then the item is flown and arrives in about 7 days, if not it's about 2 weeks. I've never had an issue getting a refund for any reason although I am a Diamond member so they are expedited for me.

erm....M.2 is just a form factor and SATA is a bus interface. An M.2 drive can be SATA or NVMe.

Ah i see what you're saying now. Usability is the main problem as I see it, i see no benefit attaching a touchpad to a PC displaying on a large screen. Have you seen how a decent teacher uses an interactive screen ? Having to hold the tablet and pass it between teachers and student and use it or mount it next to the TV just seems poor to me compared to this. The warranty won't be valid in a school environment and the screen won't be designed for toughness.

A interactive display aka touchscreen is OS neutral and as such any resources can be used from any platform. What you are proposing is displaying an Android tablet on a TV. It's a very different thing. No wonder it's half the price, although i'd consider that setup far less than half the functionality of a true touch screen. I'm guessing as they come with a 5 years warranty they are designed more robustly than consumer TVs, both electronically and mechanically. LED failure in the backlights being the biggest point of failure in modern TVs. Writing legibly on a large touch screen isn't to hard, writing on a small touch screen that's then projected large, the writing will look odd/childish/too large i think. I'd also guess there's better student engagement when they stand in front/to the side of the board rather than look down at their tablet. The teacher also has both hands free.

The protection doesn't stop components failing it stops any more happening, it's usually in the form of a self check when powered on. All of my amps and receiver check the speakers aren't wired incorrectly and there are no shorts in the output stage. Whilst UK stockists like RS and Farnell won't stock exotic parts for televisions or laptops I don't have much problem sourcing from China. There's also ohm supplies in the UK.

Heat can temporarily cause a failing capacitor to start, an often used trick if capacitors are suspected and speed is of the essence. Using a failing power supply is no good for the motherboard and hard drive/ssd attached and could cause it permanent damage. Capacitors smooth voltage spikes, if they are failing those spikes get through to the delicate electronics. I visually inspect inside power supplies now when I get PCs in for a service, anything over 5 years old. Any doubts and I check the voltages on my oscilloscope.

There doesn't seem to be a mPCIe SSD on the Biwin website, so I think they are both mSATA. I agree totally ridiculous an inexcusable with the technology that's available, but who do you suggest ? Ultimately the responsibility lies with management, their DPO and the policies they have/should have in place. IT should have representation in management, then there are those that implement the policy and lastly the person that lost the stick. You don't need a resolution of 7680x4320 to run multiple QHD monitors at 2560 x 1440. My old GTX460 had a max resolution of 2560x1600. The resolution in the specs are for each individual output, no maths required. Single link DVI only supports 1920×1200 resolution. Dual Link supports 2560×1600.

No, that's not how it works. I used an Nvidia GTX460 with my two 27" QHD monitors before switching to an ATI HD 4850 X2 as I got two more. Doesn't need to be new or swanky to run dual QHD monitors. If they don't come with cables and you're connecting with DVI, they will need to be dual link with the extra 6 pins. Be wary on ebay, there are plenty of fakes, the pins are there but the wire connecting them isn't.
