  1. I find NetSupports support to be really good generally, but I have to say it wasn't clear to me when we got DNA that SQL Lite wouldn't be enough. I think it would be helpful to state this clearly in the system requirements.
  2. Yep. Although currently the hosted stuff is less capable than the old webparts.
  3. It’s a fair point, but let’s not pretend SIMS don’t break things after each update and release a dozen patches.
  4. Set one up. Feel free to join https://chat.whatsapp.com/F1WPqUgw1SO08mxX7LGBS4
  5. I’ve made a WhatsApp for anyone in this threat that’s interested too. It’s set restricted so only admins can see contact numbers etc. If anyone wants the link feel free to PM me. I won’t share it on here just to make sure it doesn’t get spammed.
  6. Seems to be the way schools in Wales work, although LEAs can differ as well.
  7. Sounds pretty standard.
  8. Hi, I was wondering what everyone’s experience is with Wi-Fi setups in schools. I know WG provide funding to LEAs for this, so I was wondering how your Wi-Fi setups work? IE who manages it, how much control / access you have, what setup toy have, kit etc?
  9. Hi, Not sure why you can't, pm me your email and I can fix it. Def gone quiet, hopefully can fix that. The team code is ia2r3cd for anyone wanting to join and add some life to the party. ia2r3cdia2r3cdia2r3cdia2r3cd
  10. TA DA: Dear SIMS/FMS Customer We are aware of an issue that is affecting Eligibility Keys when schools logged into SIMS/FMS. We have worked on a fix for this issue, and we expect full resolution in place by 1pm today. The Eligibility Key controls access within SIMS to CENSUS, and for FMS, the CFR menu. All other areas of SIMS and FMS are unaffected. We apologise for any inconvenience this has may have caused you.
  11. The staff told me off quite aggressively for trying to exit through the “entrance”
  12. That’s because I did a stupid. Fixed now.
  13. 🤦♀️ some half asleep idiot didn’t set the form to anyone can view. I’ve had coffee and fixed it now.
  14. Fair. Anyone interested fill this out: https://forms.office.com/e/BS2CQmqCBY
  15. Don’t think so. Seems someone says it’s a good idea every year or so but it never happens.
  16. Wales didn’t get any DfE devices. WG gave us Chromebooks instead. Leadership has wanted them returned to the school for class deployment. Nearly 300 not returned. Probably will be written off. Some seem okay, but we have a load that are easily broken, and so I’m gradually building piles of Chromebooks that don’t work. At least they aren’t laptops, but we are getting a new school soon and they want to have less IT rooms and more Chromebooks. PS. I don’t like Chromebooks.
  17. Yes. You’d think you could put the licence in souls but that would be too easy.
  18. Ha! Exactly
  19. Had uniflow in my current role until the contact was up then moved to PaperCut. I tried to work with uniFlow but it was over complicated with little to no information on it around. Canon never helped and it was really resource heavy on the print server ; running a report could crash it. Same server with papercut: no issues. Staff love it.
  20. I’m hoping this works as planned and doesn’t end up asking for a licence on each workstation.
  21. Thanks. Mostly to remind people to SAVE. They never do.
  22. Don’t suppose you could PM me it? Same issue here. Thanks Kai
  23. We use the log below. It usually is put alongside the school logo
  24. We have the same issue. 200+ PC's that have to be installed ASAP but when? We can't get into IT suites, have nowhere to store them. Etc. We haven't been moved to the IWB phase but I think our LEA are doing it separate to the Hwb money.
