Look up! There's a massive 'wife' thumb above your head... Good luck, and congrats.

Our sixth formers would never ask us questions like that. They're simply not clever enough.

Tablets in schools...which one and why?
sippo replied to Little-Miss's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
We've been asked to source a tablet for nearly every member of staff. What are the best options? They must be able to 'mirror' to a projector. Thoughts/Suggestions? The obvious ipad has been mentioned. -
Went last year and was superb. Loads of bars. Make sure you visit CK BROWAR It's a brewery, but they don't serve beer by the glass. I won't ruin it for you just make sure you go there. There will be lots of stag do's there, but as long as you are not rowdy you will be fine. Are you football fans? I'd highly highly recommend getting to a Wisla Krakow game. The best experience I've ever had.

It was on the radio this morning. Worst case was that a parent threatened to run over the lollipop lady, who was 72, because she was late for work. She had just dropped her child off at the school, and was stressed apparently. Hmph. Get up earlier then.

Discuss. I know it's a bit big brother, but if parents/adults parked sensibly then there would be no call for it. The places I have seen parents park is damn right shocking, so I don't blame the councils for doing it. For me it is not for cash reasons, but for safety. CCTV to target parents

Yes please! But last time you tried to send me some sweets, a greedy member of staff nicked them out my pigeon hole!

Emergency Jokes: Two birds sat on a pirch. One says to the other 'Can you smell fish?'; Two Fish in a tank. Once says to the other 'Do you know how to drive this thing?'. [sorry] -
Is SCCM free? I have checked the logs and nothing for the day in question. No-one logged in on that PC. The Teacher was out and a supply teacher was covering for the day. If staff were more security deligent this issue wouldn't occur but there's only so many times we can tell them. As for autolock, we have tried that and it went down a treat (Sarcasm). There is an interview today with the student and they are hoping he will confess.

We have a vanilla 2008 r2 domain with windows 7 PC's. We've recently had a security breach where a student was able to log on as a member of staff. I'm not surprised because a lot of staff leave their PC's unlocked despite us telling them numerous times! Is there a way of finding out who logged on a certain PC during the day?

If it is starting to fall out then Caffeine shampoo is too late, like you said it only reduces fall out. So won't cover the bald patch...

Thats ace. The best one I heard was when someone was late. 'I left my bedroom window open over night, and the fog came in so I couldn't see my alarm clock....'

So this is the first year, we had a proper IT services team. We have three guys, so we are going out for a few beers and a carribean on friday. None of us ever want to go on full staff socials, so we are having our own. I think it may get messy. Should be good laugh though! As the boss, I thought it would be nice for me to treat the lads to a beer.

'The internet is down' but you have logged a call on our internet based fault system....

We have to 'sit tight' apparently. It's not getting into our system, it's just the notifications which are annoying!

Our puremessage has picked up at least 10 virus emails and deleted them. All from different yahoo accounts to different staff emails, with the subject line from Amazon. Also had a few virus emails from 'couriers'. Anyone notice the same? These emails aren't reaching their recipients but is there anything we can do?

Ctrl alt & Del is deployed here, because then they have to click ok which means they agree to our code of conduct. No-one reads it but there's no comeback then and we cover our backs.

I used to have a swiss army knife until I lost it. Some staff used to ask me if I was allowed it, as it could be used as a weapon. My response is what stops a student going into DT and taking a screwdriver and stabbing someone? They agreed.

Maybe they are a school who specialise in catering?
