  1. Well indeed, but then I often find that teacher's particularly like passing the buck and prefer a technological solution than just greater classroom control. We obviously need to play our part but sometimes the latter is the only solution... Apologies to any teachers here, no offence implied...
  2. I had to use the HP Universal Driver on this Printer as the updated one on the HP website continually crashed the print spooler on a Win 2k3 server, just as you described... Our server died, so had to buy and build a brand new replacement. I thought I'd get all new printer drivers from the HP site... Such a bad idea... Found SO many broken shoddy drivers... Do HP not validate drivers before releasing them??!
  3. I thought about denying access to the GAL for students, but it caused problems as email addresses wouldn't autocomplete which I decided was too irritating to live with... I decided to set the global default recipient limit to 7 or so. That does mean ofcourse that you have to use ADModify or something similar to take staff users out of this policy and set manually back to 5000 or whatever. Re-run the Update Recipient Services after you've made the changes if you can't wait til the next refresh... It's still a bit quirky but its the best solution I've found... HTH Matt
  4. Indeed, this is true
  5. Moving to the area soon... Will take a look
  6. Yup... it goes away after awhile... Google-glitch
  7. I'm presuming you've set up a 'satellite' station for T4 and T6... In that case, copy the whole of the SNOVA directory from the server (apart from the NOVAT directory) over to the standalone machine' local counterpart directory. That will do the trick. When you open T4 on the satellite station, it will ask you if you want to load local or server data. Just choose the local option. This will then run as a separate entity from the T4 data on the server. You might wanna SQL Link with T6 though first as Matt40k pointed out, you shouldn't be using T4 for timetabling anymore, and it unsupported by Capita The 'satellite' install does install a standalone T6 for you too tho... Good luck. Matt
  8. I'm in a 'casual' guild and respecced healer and now inundated with hc's in the evening and being one of the guilds 3 raid healers... Have got 3 of the 4 quarters down in naxx but not quite got the tacs for the 4horsies down yet... We do VoA and OS 10 man too Guild isn't really big enough for 25 mans yet, but that doesn't really bother me... Ulduar looks really good from what I read about it... Something completely different, but I doubt i'll see it any time soon...
  9. I'm pretty sure I've seen it in ADSI Edit whilst in there for RM on a support call. The info is not viewable through ADUC snappin if I remember correctly. I wouldn't advise fiddling around in there though as RM do tend to frown at that kinda thing. If you're just having problems with Drive mappings and printer allocation in one room, they'd probably advise recreating the room.
  10. To all intents and purposes you dont... Drive mappings and Printer allocations are all set using th RMMC. You should never need to view the backend info. If you're having problems viewing either, I'd raise a support call with RM
  11. It gets its info direct from AD/ADSI
  12. We have birthday bot and you get the EduGeek logo redesigned for you?? lol, now that's power!
  13. Voted too
  14. Modify perms should be sufficient to enable the user to update SIMS.
