I thought Veeam Endpoint Backup Free was free? Is there a paid versions also then?
-
Does this mean i can get rid of DPM 2012 and use this to backup student and staff files (Veeam only backups the C;drive for file servers), SQL databases and my Physical DC?
-
Hi Ive just gone into the properties of the DNS server, clicked on the security tab and found a couple of unknown accounts. Is it fine just to remove these entries and the group for our decommissioned exchange server? Thanks
-
My DCs are 2008R2 on both schools and both schools have the _msdcs. One school only has one DC where as the other has 3 DCs so its difficult to know it definately should have all three DCs in that folder.
-
Hi In DNS under the _msdcs folder, we only have one DNS Server listed. Should all DNS server be listed here? Thanks
-
Ha Ha. which one are you then?
-
Also with Veeam backup and Eager zero disks, does Veeam still only take small backups on incremental changes or will it backup the whole VM?
-
Hi What type of disk provisioning does everyone use for VMs in VMware? Thick Lazy or Thick Eager? I know Eager is supposedly slightly faster but some people say its only marginal? Thanks

Whats the rough cost of the i3 model?

I though you got a licence with it when you purchase a chromebook?
-
Finally managed to get it working but the "Chrome Devices" button in the Google Apps - Device Management section is greyed out. I enroled my device so was assuming this would make this active. Do i need to make more firewall changes for the Chromebook to communicate with Google Apps?
-
Do you know which ones i will need to unblock?

Its running on version 37.0.2062.119 and says its upto date. Time shown is correct

I browse as guest but im unable to access anything on the internet. It comes up with Webpage Blocked. On one of the tests you can run, it fails on the captive portal, even though we dont have one!
-
tried that but it doesn't work. My wifi is wpa2 personal with aes encryption so not sure if this is fine?
-
Hi Ive just bought a Chromebook to have a mess around with but im having trouble with it connecting to the internet. It connects to the WLAN fine (gets an ip address etc from DHCP) but will not connect to the internet to finish the setup process. If i "browse as guest" the webpage is blocked. We are using the SWGFL for our ISP and have the transparent proxy enabled. Any pointers?

How you finding it? do you use it for VDI or just VM Servers?
-
Nope, not even heard of them.

The netapp quote was a company call axess systems. Its hard trying to digest all the info about the different systems including reviews and feedback and make a decision on that everything you hear. I think we are going to go with NetApp as the general consensus is that its miles better that the HP MSA2040. The Nimble is just too expensive for us at 27k with 3 years support.
-
No not looked at the dell. Looked at Nimble (too expensive at 27k), netapp (16k) and MSA2040 same ish price as netapp
-
Would you recomend netapp over the MSA2040? Also would the NetApp be better for a smallish VDI deployment?
-
Can anyone recommend NetApp? We had a quote for an E2700 with 24 x 1.2tb 10k sas for around £15k Does anyone know how this stacks up against the HP MSA2040?
-
I looked at VMware Horizon view and for 100 licences was £18k. A years support on those 100 user was just over 4k per year. and thats not including hardware!
-
i think it was the CS220. To be honest, we were looking at VDI about 6 months ago but there was no cost savings, in fact it worked out a lot more expensive over 5 years than buying 100 fat clients. Given our budgets over the next 5 years, it just wasn't a cost effective route
-
Just out of curiosity, how much did you get for a Nimble quote? Mine was £27k!!!!!!
