Nope - as I posted this I googled, to find that Professional (the version we're on) doesn't support it. I think I can encrypt them on my Windows 10 machine though and then they should be fine. Testing that now!

Used to have an Oracle remote desktop before I started, but the general consensus was that staff didn't like it/it was unreliable

One member of staff was showing me results of 0.08Mbps down when they were connected to the VPN :/ HAP+ I've looked at, but I'm not too convinced about it - just the way you have to download then re-upload files; I don't think all the staff would get that Direct Access would probably be ideal, but I did look into that at a previous workplace and it got too involved too quickly for my knowledge!

Currently, we have the typical robocopy solution in place (they save in a folder on their C drive, it robocopies a backup each time they log in). I've started to move some people across to a VPN solution, as I find this is more practical, secure and safe. Everyone who has a decent home broadband/fibre connection is finding the VPN to be miles better than the previous solution. However the odd one or two members of staff that have terrible broadband (I mean less than 5Mbps down/up) are finding the VPN a challenge; that I understand. Obviously we can't make them pay to get their own internet upgraded, but that's what they need to do for it to work. How would you guys deal with this situation? I know that SLT will no doubt want me to make an alternative solution (like robocopy/having files on their C drive) but I don't want to have multiple systems going on really. I can see that being even more confusing! Ideas?

We've got Xibo set up here but it's quite simple at the moment - basic powerpoint, BBC news ticker and a clock... I was thinking about putting the Impero Computer Availability on it, but the website that Impero give is laid out a bit poorly? If I could pull that information into my own HTML page, I may be able to get it looking a bit cleaner! What do you guys put on yours? I've seen a few older threads with this question, but I want fresh ideas! And photos! Let's see how you lay it out? Thanks!

Apparently so, I stand corrected. I've disabled the multiple logons and that's worked. I still don't like not having the peace of mind that they can't get on the task manager, but Impero etc. seems to give access is denied when you do try and stop it.

Yeah, services/processes-wise it's AV/Impero monitoring etc. @sted has it spot on with the blocking of new logons. Says 'system has run out of resources and cannot allow further logons'. Yes, maybe we could remote restart, but that shouldn't be a problem in the first place. That's 5/10 minutes of learning time lost, because the student couldn't log in at the same time as their peers.

We're looking at moving across to 365 in easter, but I'd like to trial it with some students first. We only have our school's domain, which is setup with the onsite Exchange server. Is there any way I can setup the MX rules to go to either/both? Or can it only be one/the other? Don't want to make any changes and take the entire system off!

*Thread resurrection time* I'm back faced with the task manager argument. My argument of them being able to disable services/end processes etc. apparently isn't strong enough. Any help? AND They're wanting me to give the students back the ability to lock workstations. I removed this, because they'd lock the machine, walk out and never return. Then after 4 logons like that, the system runs out of resources and prevents any further logons, meaning yet another pointless call out for me/my apprentice... I know NYPA and all of that, but really need help in wording this to 'non-IT people'. Even though it's the IT teacher mainly in question... (IRONY!)

Any more suggestions?

Doesn't look like a USB CD drive works either... It's an ancient machine and the BIOS isn't much help either...

Can you give a bit more detail? Enforce bitlocker do you mean?
