Hello, We're having serious problems with our filter system allowing lots of spam through. Can anyone recommend any good quality software for Exchange 2013 that will stop practically ALL spam?

Nope, no DCs have been demoted. We have 2 DCs, one of which is in RSAT. - - - Updated - - - Yes. I can't get these templates on either DC. Nothing seems obvious in the event logger either.

Hello, I'm developing an application in VB and I'm trying to add shortcuts to the office applications on it. I've created a shortcut for them, ie; "C:\Application\Office\excel.lnk" however when using this path for the code it says file not found. The paths are all correct. When I use the FULL C:\Program Files etc. it works fine. The issue is, this will be distributed around the network and not every install will be the same. Some may have different versions of office, some may be 32bit/64bit. Any ideas how to shortcut this?

Hello, I'm writing a backup batch script (all working fine) however I want a tray icon to appear throughout. Ideally it will popup saying 'backup started' and then if possible a percentage status on hover. If not the percentage, just 'backing up' would work too. I've looked at 'notifu' however it's a bit temperamental and the icon in the tray disappears when the timer on the balloon runs out! Any ideas?? Any questions, go ahead.

So, the installer didn't work. I've checked the backups, and upon going into SYSVOL in Windows, there is no 'PolicyDefinitions' folder?

Where would I check for this sorry?

Hello, Anyone know how to set a group policy to allow editing to HKCU? I've got a powershell script that all the staff have to run and it adds multiple keys however they don't have the permission! If I have to enable full registry editing, I'm okay with that as most won't understand it to be able to edit it anyway.

We're having very similar problems. We have ended up opening our filter to the medium level as full lock down stopped other schools being able to contact us! We just block addresses as and when, even though this doesn't always work properly...

Looks like this is the best way to do it, but I'm not sure on a few things: 1) Do I need 32 and 64 bit templates if there are different PC's in the network running both? 2) Can I just import the ADMX files within the GPO or do I need to go to the %systemroot% folders etc.? 3) Is this a user policy or computer? I would presume computer, but I'd prefer to verify it!

Hello, I've been trying to find a way to stop the 'enable content' warning to pop up on one specific document. I have created a database that all staff will be using, however on launch macros run straight away to hide the ribbon etc. These wont run unless 'enable content' is pressed; the problem is, a lot of staff will not realise this is the case and could potentially mess with the back end of the database. I've seen a few powershell scripts to add trusted locations, however these didn't really seem to work. PLUS I had to run a batch command to allow powershell from all locations first AND this has to be ran as an admin - so this isn't really an option! :-( Help!

Background information: I have a table with a list of usernames and passwords, these are the accounts to login to the database. A form is set to ask for the username and password, upon pressing login, if they can validate they are sent to appropriate form. If not, there is an error. The issue I'm having is, when users are typing their username/password into the unbound fields, it can sometimes edit the actual records in the table somehow? Usually it's only the first record, but this means sometimes accounts are duplicated and therefore you cannot get into the database with that account. I want to lock the employee accounts table. I've tried using Me.AllowEdits = False on the form, but then I receive an error on load and it won't let me type into the unbound text fields? Help! Any more info needed? Ask away!

Hello, I'm creating a database (as explained in an earlier post) and I have a drop down field for a 'status'. It's simply 'Open' or 'Closed'. When the staff member changes the status to 'closed' I want another field (completion date) to automatically fill in the date and time that it was closed. Is this possible? If so, how?(!)
