Well if you read the header correctly and if it did come from [email protected] then yes it did come from the web, But im not sure if thats correct as it doesn't resolve to an ip, any chance you can post the full header of the email just blank the to address ?

Well here i've deployed office 2007 to xp with GPO no problem at all! What problems did you hit?

UAC? Can you not simply use a msi instead for rolling them out?

Hmm well if your right with it being @NS35284.ovh.net , It doesn't seem to even resolve to an IP address now so its no longer there... :S But ye it could be just spam... But if it seems more personal then maybe its a student who happens to know how to send an email without getting caught!

Look at the header of the email , what client are you using to view the email? Sounds like its been spoofed.. Unfortunately really easy todo... Normally impossible to trace....

i'm guessing you have tried turning the firewall off on the dc just to test? also have you checked the time and date are right on the san but as it seems fine with the 2003.. im guessin thats fine

Gonna say not had this one before but have you got User Profile Hive Cleanup Service installed on the machines? Ye we had the same issue with kids writing vbs scripts etc, hence now nothing can be run without us putting it in required places! But basically we have the gpo for startmenu redirect to \\servername\menu$\students\etc then have folders in there for each subject and then general for those other things like volume control that is needed by all the students. This way the start menu is always the same for them, and we have full controll of what is on it as only administrators have write access to the folder! Good to see i'm not the only one starting now with the new domain for summer Your most likely doing exactly what i'll be doing over the next few months... Testing testing testing... But anyway, Simple way we got around that was not to show the all users programs(we use redirected instead) and mandatory profiles, Not sure if there is any other way.. Any chance you have maybe enabled LDAP server signing required? which maybe the san doesnt support, Although first port of call would be as gtech said... Firmware!

We had the exact same problem, although in all honestly i can't rememeber what it was, I think it was looking for the paper from the wrong area with that printer! i realised it after i printed it as a pdf from a pdf then printed that one and it was fine ... I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if i can see what setting it was i changed to make it work

I'm guessing these are wireless laptops? We had this problem, Best bet (if the area doesn't need to be available outside of the network) is set the machine name not to go offline in the GPO!

Ye, I'm still waiting for them to confirm that they are doing this but i was advised on the phone this is what should happen next. With the hp laptop, We tried putting in a different wireless card and it looks like the machine is locked to certain wireless cards as it would complain about an unsupported wireless card on bootup!

Now this is interesting to see, As we are currently been going through support with HP for the last 3 weeks and now we are waiting on them to send a different manufacture wireless card. Because these machines are HP 610 with the same wireless card as those toshiba (Realtek RTL8191SE) Really struggle with are wireless system with constant issues and haven't been fit for purpose since they arrived!

Well you can remove the share remotely using "net share sharename \\computername" so if you have a list of usernames to delete you could use excel with the command to unshare it and then delete it

Is it one of these sound cards that require a program to be running to make changes etc to the sound card? Maybe thats blocked?

Exactly! Never hit the limit myself in all honestly as never needed more than 5 test machines at once, Its just nice to have everything available when ever i want it!

Just means you can only activate the software so many times, so each os will come with x amount of liscences so you can only have x amount of live copies going in a test environment

Your be able todo everything with it that you can do with a full copy, Just the restriction is your not allowed to use it in a production environment! Otherwise do as it as you wish

Personally i'd go for the tech net plus, I bought it for myself just so i can test everything in a vm environment without any resrictions!

for just a quick printer install, how about just logging in locally with the local administrator account?
