Thanks, I do so enjoy being called stupid because I manage an RM CC3 network I think you'll find it does take a small degree of intelligence to run an RM network. People may not like RM networks (and that's perfectly acceptable - everyone has their own opinions), but they are in use in many schools whether you like it or not. So please keep your small minded narrow opinions to yourselves and don't doubt the intelligence of your fellow techies! angry9:

It's happening with both Safari 2 and 3 (beta). I tried 3 as I thought that would solve it - wrong! I think it's caused by a corruption in the profile as on the machine's second user Safari works perfectly. No they don't! All spin over substance. One of our other Macs threw a wobbler and created a new user profile one day and nearly lost a lot of work!

Done the Safari reset & deleted the .plist files, but it still crashes :-( Just installed Firefox and that's fine!

Whenever I type something into a text box, e.g. Google, Safari crashes when I press the enter button of click the search button. It happens on all sites with text input. Anyone any ideas why? BTW, everything is up to date! Cheers

We had a similar problem last year. It took ages to sort out and ended up with RM totally resetting our filters. Been fine since though!

Just had this e-mail from Promethean - Thankyou for bringing this to our attention. We have already had another antivirus program identify this as a virus, but thankyou for letting us know about yours. The file in question was used for a product we used to supply. On the newer versions of the software, this file was re - written, and thus does not cause any problems with antivirus software. Please note, the file in question is absolutely fine, and is indeed not a virus. If you require to, you can simply remove the file, or tell the antivirus program that it is not a virus, and for it to be excluded from the virus list. Thankyou again for bringing this to our attention, but as I say, there is nothing to worry about with the file in question.

I've just reported it to Promethean, just waiting for a reply.

I've just had a couple of people come to me saying that their Symantec AV has reported a Hacktool Rootkit in the file ddnt.sys (my laptop as well :oops: ). Can't find this as a reported problem anywhere on the net. Anyone else had this and is it a real issue? Cheers

I'm in Staffs as well. I e-mailed RM yesterday and now it's unblocked!

Would these be the same staff who would throw a hissy fit if they got a telling off for letting a virus lose round the network?

We're currently looking at VLEs for the school. All have their pros and cons as is to be expected, but none seem to mention special schools. Is there anyone out there from a special school using a VLE, which one and why? Cheers

The Mrs had decided that we should have the Sky TV, phone & broadband package. Now this does make since as it's cheaper than just the phone and broadband we have at the moment. BUT, is Sky broadband any good? Are they reliable? I can see the benefits of the package, but I'm not convinced that I won't have to wait yonks to be connected!
