Funnily I m not joking! was quite a good book, not to come off badly but as NM you need to at least understand the concepts even if you dont know how to implement it

I got learn Windows server 2008 in 24 hours that all I needed to know! otherwise RM is the only way to go even CSE needs some Vanilla knowledge

I had CSE they were good serverwise and the engineer I had who came out was very good but if you know how to do Vanilla can be done easily yourself

I dont really have anything at all 3rd party Server 2008 R2 has mostly everything I need all I think I have is WinInstall, UltraVNC thats it really

I do document my network but its as vanilla as you can get if someone walked into my job they would work it out in a few days if they had any experience of a windows network ie GPO's with names like installOffice2007wSP2, installPrinterIT2, policyStudents servers with names like schoolname-dc-002, schoolname-pri-001, schoolname-web-001

CSE used to be with my school dont use their client software! urgh! but generally their server setups are good using Xen server etc.. but I ve found it easier being Vanilla and that was for months by myself because I can go to technet or many places for help instead of relying on one source

How much RAM is recommended for a print server

I have a exchange 2007 box virtualised with 8GB of ram now I was thinking I want to put a Exchange 2010 box on this server and reduce the ram to 4gb for both and with most staff not checking emails over the summer would 20 users of the old exchange notice the difference for a day or two on 4gb?

I just use Deployment through Group Policy then default with group policy preferences, why not that way? the more vanilla the better!

I call mine sgs-dc-001, sgs-sims-001 etc.. then if I have to move call server sgs-dc-01, sgs-sims-01

Or for an alternative go into ggp -> computer config -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> ini files -> delete: C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth\client\res\flightsim\flightsim.ini

GPP is fine on 2003 Domain controllers, just install the update and acPO from a Win7 machines you can create per room and/ or per user. I had similar setup and moved to gpp, alot easier

Wy a logon script when you can now use gpp?
