Morning. We've got a new Brother HL-L8260CDW printer. We run a windows 7 network on a 2008 r2 server. I'm having an issue with fonts on the printer. Whenever and whatever I print from the network to the printer no text is shown at all Graphics print fine. The printer will print its settings page fine but that's it. I must be missing something pretty basic but can't figure out what. I've got both 64 and 86 drivers installed as we run both. Any suggestions gratefully received. thanks

Our school had their own assessment software created as they weren't happy with the current offerings. PM if you'd like me to get you the name of the company they used.

At least I've not paid the plumber, I made the mistake of paying an electrician for some lights and he never came back, ignored my phone calls and generally made me feel like I'd been taken for a fool :/ I'd only used him as he'd done some work in one of my schools, I knew the company (and had used them for about 10 yrs) and still got screwed over. Even when I complained to the boss of said firm I didn't get anywhere. I'm going to give the plumber another week to get back to me at least I've got heating, a bath and an indoor toilet which is more than they left me with in the summer.

Good luck with your training, the plumber that actually came out was a lady and she was really good, shame shes not been back to finish the job. I'm on the border between Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

I'm hoping someone will have an idea of how I am suppose to deal with this problem! Doing a major house renovation, finally found a plumbing company that quoted for some work. we went with this particular company as the quote was properly typed out with terms and conditions, they quote that they are a "which" approved company, the company owner came and looked around our property so knew exactly what was involved. They started work in the Summer hols, sent only one plumber who we have no complaints with, good work ethic and knows what they are doing. We then had to wait for another trade to come onsite, they finished and we called the plumber to book for final work including new external soil pipe. We had to really chase for a date and finally got booked in for 20th and 21st of November! Tuesday morning we get a call from company owner saying the plumber that was due to come to us was off sick and he hasn't got anyone else to cover. No phone call on the Wednesday. I've called him today and was told that he would call me back when he's got a date!!!! Now where do we stand? Do we wait till whenever or do I call it quits and try and find another plumber. Do I get another quote (plumbers are like chickens teeth in these parts) and pay the original plumbing company the difference for work done? We need to get the work finished so that we can crack on with the rest of the renovations. Part of me wants to tell the plumber to go and do one but then I'm worried we wont get another plumber in. We've not paid anything thankfully.

Excuse me for having a Monday morning lack of information moment! we are looking at 49" screen, not touch. Its purely for running presentations on. It's in his office, so not huge. The distance from the wall is about 9ft. Can't see him needing wireless but that may change in the future. We are fully alarmed. And in the midlands. Sensible enough for you?
-
hi. The boss wants a wall mounted screen in his office for when he has meetings. wants to be able to run presentations from both laptops and memory sticks. Can anyone suggest a suitable screen and a supplier/installer please. thanks

I had a very proud mummy moment when the Sentry went over, its my sons regiment, he's not a pilot but without him and the other engineers and ground crew the pilots wouldn't having anything to fly in

as a matter of interest a lot of LGV's from the uk are limited to the maximum speed that they can drive., Tescos, Sainsburys to name just a couple are limited to 56mph and if I remember right Asda are 52mph. When approaching a sliproad onto the carriage way that they are already on, a lot of UK lgv drivers will move over if at all possible but you have to remember that not many cars in the outer lanes will move over to allow the lorry to do so. Also don't forget that that's a lot of vehicle weight and its stopping distance will differ greatly than that of a car. I've seen the cab camera footage from an LGV vehicle and can confirm that some drivers are muppets no matter what brand of car they drive.

oh no I'm not that subtle. (I do have 3 grown up sons who that still works on though lol) I read him the full riot act, School network security, AUP etc etc but I keep my voice very low and level and fix them with a mum stare!!!!
-
He's just a cocky little so and so. I've just had him in front of his class and read him the riot act in a very calm controlled way. More effective than full on Thunder so I've been told Will have a word with our police liaison officer too. thanks guys

He can't install it, its just sitting in his my docs with other exes that make he thinks make him look big to his classmates!. I have no idea how he's managed to get it onto his my docs so will have a look around and see who else might have similar stuff.

One of our students is telling everyone he has their ip address and can block their internet access at home. hes also boasting that he can "shut the schools network down" I've had a look at his school account and the only thing I've found is this DarkcometRAT53. is it something I should be worried about? He can't bring anything in on memory stick as we've recently stopped students bring them in. Hes a year 6 student. thanks

Thank you for the offer, but think I'm going to try a sound bar and see how long it takes the teacher to break it

we have several promethean power amplifiers in our classrooms connecting the pc to speakers for the IWB. Like most things here, they are starting to fail. Can anyone suggest a replacement that would be easy to swap out. I'm not very confident at wiring but willing to have a go as the budget is limited so having a full replacement installed is out of the question. thanks
-
I have several Epson EMp X5e projectors that are coming to the end of their life :/ Budgets as always are tight to will be sticking with our current set up of projecting onto IWB from a ceiling mounted security cage. Suppliers have so far come up with an NEC ME301x, epson EB-x41 and epson EB-X39. pretty similar in price but I wondered if anyone had other suggestions. TIA

One of our cover supervisors has asked me to flip some videos she had taken on an ipad. Quicker and easier for me to do it for her and show her how to do it next time. First video clip "pops" up and it made me laugh out loud. or it may just be my warped sense of humour and the end of a long term.

Hello. When adding a new wireless access point to our ruckus network Is it as simple as connecting to wired network and then finding the new WAP in the wireless console. sorry for sounding thick but the school use to use a company to install all things wireless but after a budget cuts and a "disagreement" with said company its now up to me :/ Thanks
