You could set up an Office 365 account with a shared calendar that would attach to the staff's Office 365 outlook. Or it could be published to URL, but then anyone with the URL would be able to access it. We've done both for different things and they work fine.

Just so I can understand what your setup is: You have a PC with dual monitor outputs let's call them 1 and 2. 1 goes to the teacher's screen. 2 goes to a VGA splitter box with outputs A and B. A goes to your projector. B goes to a secondary display at the back of the room. And you want to be able to freeze both outputs 2A and 2B while the teacher continues to use the screen on output 1? If this is the case a software solution would probably work best. We've got a little homebrewed app that does this by switching the display to from mirrored to extended and throwing up a screenshot onto the secondary display. But after a few weeks of testing the teachers decided it was easier and more reliable to just switch between extended and mirrored as required. I think going extended might be the best solution here. You could give them shortcuts to "displayswitch.exe /clone" and "displayswitch.exe /extend" to make it even easier for them.

I don't know about the older versions of notebook. But when our licence for ran out, Notebook 17 threw up a lot of "unlicensed" messages and watermarked everything, apart from computers connected to smart touch-screens (E70 and SB600 series boards). So newer versions of Notebook do appear to be able to tell what they're plugged into and (licencing wise) react to it.

Could be a timings issue.Does windows need to have loaded before BGinfo can set the wallpaper? Have a look in the %temp% folder (or wherever you point BGinfo) to see the wallpaper's been generated and just not set. I know we run BGinfo from the "shell:startup" folder to make sure it runs in a "logged on desktop" environment. - It's a legacy thing, so I don't know how much impact it has these days.

Hi, we're seeing an issue on windows 10 1803 whereby after the user logs in the screen remains black. I can ctrl-alt-del and get into task manager which shows all of our background applications are running, just not explorer.exe I can't create a new process in task manager (I assume because of lack of elevated permissions), or change task manager to run elevated. If I right click on a process and go "search online" then IE runs fine. All I can really do is log the user off/ reboot the computer. This normally fixes the issue. If we check the logs afterward it doesn't show anything untoward. Anyone else had this, or have any ideas what's going on? Thanks.

We use Intune, which should be fairly inexpensive and you should be able to get added to your MS agreement.

I think the point is that you can't make a SAR request for someone else (as far as I'm aware). The way I read the information presented here, it sounds like a parent is trying to make a SAR for their child.

I agree with this. Although, I'd put something like the TES6 announcement trailer in the same category. It's pretty much just animated concept art and a title card.

I wouldn't mind a splash screen or something where you can choose to start a new file or open an old one before the candidate details screen. As we have candidate details and user must save enabled, if someone is opening the program to reopen an old file (or backup) it's a lot of faffing.

Sounds like the PC isn't posting right (or at all). Maybe try resetting the CMOS. We used to have a bunch of computers that would do that a lot, and unplugging the power cable for a couple of minutes (or the amount of time it takes to carry it back to the office) seemed to get it to boot.

It's been a while since I did anything with Meraki, but as I remember the MDM doesn't install any 'software' (unless you tell it to), but in most cases software will need to be installed to facilitate enrollment. For iPads/phones/pods : If you're not using DEP or configurator to connect the device to meraki, then you/ your user will need to install the management app so they can enroll the device. For Windows PCs/laptops/ect : The msi applet needs to be installed for it to connect to the MDM. Android : Similar to apple, you need the management app installed to be able to enroll. You might not need the app to enrol tablets (I can't remember) but it's far an away the easiest way. I hope this helps.

Is that using the profile roaming settings or, just redirecting the chrome profile to a share?

We're testing the Chrome Roaming stuff here. So far it seems to work fine. Just need to check it doesn't get too big before we push it out to all the staff.
