Has anyone got a recording of Channel 5's On Benefits and Proud (Broadcast 21:00 Oct 14th 2013) that they could upload to Clickview Exchange. Apparently it was rebroadcast on 5* on Sunday 9th Feb too but unfortunately I don't record that channel and have only just been asked if I can get it today. I record Channels 5 but bit too far back now, long since overwritten. Thanks Richard.

No idea at present what caused this. Repair is proving unworkable due to amount of messed up DLL's etc. Looks like best option is re-clone affected machines or on newer ones take opportunity to upgrade to windows 7.

We have around 20 XP machines failed since yesterday evening with same issue. Windows 7 machines still fine. We use centrally managed Sophos AV. Did occur to us about false positive situation but sophos logs for failed machines show no reports of action taken recently on those machines. A colleague has got one machine running by copying contents of system32 and inf folders from one machine to another and now machine boots into windows but obviously this will have caused driver issues and probably some other funnies.

Yes possibly the case. There seems to be a lot of files missing from system32 and also from the inf folder.

Has anyone else experienced issues with windows XP today. Around a dozen of our remaining XP computers have come up failing to boot with a missing HAL.DLL file. However solving it is proving difficult. XP repair fails to work . Replacing hal.ddl manually results in a report missing NTOSKRNL.EXE file too. Replacing both then results in a dll file missmatch error. It sounds as thought there are other associated files and of different types depending on system too. But it's strange why have they all failed this morning.

Tension wires sound like a good option. If you could bring projector forward there are I-beam clamps for poles that may be better to hang directly below beam. Another option that maybe more rigid is a scaffold pole clamped between the beams and a pole clamp hanging projector on that. I had some projectors in rooms hung from scaffold poles clamped to I-beams. Not sure I'd go for short throw option though. I've encountered issues with short throw onto hanging screens because any screen sway in a draft or curl in the screen gives amplified distortion of image due to the steep throw angle so I'd prefer to use long throw projectors on pull down screens.

It is showing up there now. Doesnt seem to want to give a video ID number though.

I've now uploaded it. Title is Undercover: The Truth About Amazon -... loaded under economics. I can't seem to get it to show on a search at moment though may take a while to appear maybe.

Due to a DVD disk failure Our English department desperately wants a Copy of an ITV 1999 production of "The Turn of The Screw". DVD they had was a recording from ITV TV. They have searched to buy a commercial copy but cannot obtain what they want in time if at all. There is one production on Exchange but this is not the one they need apparently it's a different version. Just wondering if anyone has this 1999 version they are looking for. Regards Rick.

Hi Think this is similar issue to earlier threads though wanted to check as they are quite old now. We are not a big used of interactive boards but do have two Activeboard 300 units. We have recently replaced the classroom computers and downloaded latest active inspire software. I have tried entering both board details from their labels on website to get key to enable Pro features but both are rejected as invalid serial number on website. Teachers are currently complaining they have lost software features that they previously had but I am unable to enable them without the key so it is preventing them using their boards as they did before. I have emailed tech support via a form on web page 2 or 3 days ago but had no response as yet. Can you advise me?

Interested to see your post. I am looking at the same thing. Our MFL faculty have a 10 year old Lab 300 with Sanako version 9 running on Win XP which we support in house. The PCs now need replacing but to go to win7 or above needs some outlay on sanako software upgrade. The lab is only lightly used as an actual language lab, only a few teachers got to grips with it, except for the mass listening exams which it works well for. I too would like to look at alternative solutions before going down the upgrade path again. What are others using out there, are there any current recommended IP based systems ?

Thanks Chris We have 3 fixed , 1 is a dual LNB setup with 19E & 13E and another dish with 5W feeding multi-switches out to classrooms. Will have a route around on Hotbird see if we can find ZDF there then.

Our German faculty makes a lot of use of free to air digital channels ZDF, Kika & Prosieben broadcast on Astra 19E satellite. One teacher compiles weekly German news and current affairs items for use in class from these. Recently we seem to be having issues with these channels coming showing as scrambled at certain times now more frequently. Does anyone know if these channels have become encrypted recently needing a viewing card now? I tried scanning for them on 2 or 3 transponder frequencies given on Lyngsat.com but found nothing there at all. Have done a network scan on receiver but it hasn't found them FTA anywhere else so far and may have not shown up at all now. Just wondering if they have gone subscription or whether we have a receiver or dish issue that's giving us problems. If any one else receiving these ok could you let me know details of transponder frequencies you are receiving on and I can check what we are looking at. Regards Richard.

Our school has not been a big adopter of interactive whiteboards mainly due to quite a lot of staff not wanting them so giving the problem of providing for those who want and those who don't in the same classroom. So where we have gone for interactive solutions we have installed interactive projectors on plain whiteboards thus accommodating both staff groups. We have both Hitachi and Epson interactive projectors The Hitachi ones, more recently adopted, include the Starboard software which seems very good but he software supplied with the earlier Epson ones is quite limited. I've been asked to look for a brand independent Interactive Software that could be used with them and have come across the open source one called Open Sankore. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this or any other alternatives and how they find them?

I've seen this issue quite a lot over the years with switch mode power supplies in various computers and related devices. Components can fail over time with heat and age and once cooled down do not perform. Commonly electrolytic capacitors dry out and fail in power supplies often indicated by bulging or splitting tops on their metal case. Other components too may suffer with age and heat. If totally dead for a while I would suspect this sort of failure is developing with the main power supply. Probably a common failure for that make if a number the same are suffering. A range of early Hitachi engined projectors we had also used to suffer similar with the lamp ballast unit which provides high voltage to strike the lamp. Once disconnected from mains for a while the projector would power up but the lamp would no longer light. Sometimes recovering after being powered on for a while. regards Richard.

Hmmmm thanks for that. Perhaps I need to have a closer look at the paper path and give it a good clean out. It is strange as you say why one makes it through but next doesn't.

Has anyone come across this type of jam problem. Printer using Tray 2 multi sheet tray (1 is manual feed slot). Printing individual print jobs of single pages one after the other it is fine. However if you print a multi page job 3rd page causes a paper jam every time. Paper stops with leading edge at what I would call the registration assembly before it proceeds to enter the photo drum area. To clear you don't even have to open back and remove the paper just open and close front cover and when printer reinitialises it ejects jammed sheet through the normal output path quite happily, so why did it Jam? Must be a timing or sensor problem. Have cleaned pickup rollers and had air duster down where I suspect there maybe an optical sensor on registration area but no different. Regards Richard.

Hi all Does anybody have the final episode of The returned "The Horde" from Channel 4 broadcast on 28th July 2013 that they could upload to clickview exchange? I was recording the series for our French department on our 24/7 but the tuner lost 3 channels inc Ch4 over that weekend and had to be re-tuned to get them back. Haven't seen it repeated since.
