  2. We switched from sophos to nod32 a few years ago. Back then sophos degraded performance on the workstation in a terrible way. Now we are using nod32 for 4 years.. PRO's would be performance, easy installation and roll-out. con's : terrible support (at least in netherlands they only have email support ).. overall we are happy with it regards bio..

  4. I urge you to update to isa 2004 or 2006. In this version you can easily modify the HTTP filter to block MSN traffic (can't do in 2000).. But beware there are many website that support webmessaging so you'll have a hardtime blocking those as well. just my 2 cents bio..
  5. Are you sure no other policy overrules your new one ? Yuu can use the group policy management console (GPMC) "Group Policy Results" option which you can use to find out which policies are winning for the various settings. bio..

  14. Well 2 weeks ago i spoke to a fellow engineer that ran into the same problem as yours... shares where disappearing on a w2k8 server box. It seems that a server.exe service was running on the box... as he investigated ...he pinned down the problem due to a faulty client that was creating havoc on the server. That client was infected with a trojan/virus. He also told me that he was running symantec AV that had not recognised that virus.. after cleanig the network (he used NOD32).. his problems went away.. I hope this helps somehow bio..

  21. To my simple knowledge you need to configure a listener on the external (WAN) interface. So a public adres with a port number to which the home clients are conneting. Then create a server publishing rule that uses the listener and redirects to ip 172.16.1.15. I asume in this scenario that the external ip of the isa is an public ip adres... regards bio

  24. this will help you: hxxp://support.microsoft.com/kb/281626 hxxp://windowsis.com/blogs/windowsis/archive/2007/06/12/using-dhcpexim-and-netsh-to-migrate-dhcp-scopes-to-a-windows-2003-server-dhcp-server.aspx bio
  25. You should configure your rule to use authenticated users and not All users. This way only active directory users will be able to use the internet. Also you could segment your network by placing the isa internal nic on a seperate subnet. configure routing on your core switch. This way the internal client have a different ip as default gateway. Now you can use a GPO to configure the clients as proxy clients. bio..
