One of our users has shown me a problem that when she tries to open a spreadsheet in her own docs it sometimes tells her that it is locked for for editing because she has it open! She isn't logged on anywhere else only the one machine. It's almost random but happen more if she has just been on the spreadsheet and then come out of it. Also every time she opens the spreadsheet and closes it, it always asks if she wants to save the changes even though she has done nothing to it! Has anyone seen this before?

I'm a bit miffed as they don't have any documentation for help unless you subscribe to their annual help!

I have wasted my afternoon trying to find a solution to this. Our students have just started using dreamweaver and flash to create websites. Whenever they add a flash element to their site then try to preview it I get a message like this... Having read up on this it looks like I have to create a file something like this... C:\Users\JohnD\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#Security\FlashPlayerTrust I can't do this and get it to work BUT surely on a domain there must eb an easier way that I just can't find? Anyone?

I have a few users who are reporting that when they log on to Hap they end up back at the log on screen. I claimed back a total of 110 addresses in the end!

Yesterday afternoon, just before home time a few students couldn't log on to some laptops with wi-fi. They were getting a 169 IP address. I quickly gave up working it out as I had places to be. This morning I came back in and looked at our DHCP and we had run out of addresses! It then struck me that just before Christmas we had an iPad trolley trial and I had created a new WLAN just for the iPads that was locked down to mac address, but during one science lesson at the beginning of the trial a few ipads didn't take the profile so did not have the password for wi-fi. I wrote it on the board for the lesson and thought no more of it. Anyway jumping back to today I had over 100 students phones and ipods connecting to it! Keep in mind that although they were connecting to it they were not getting on to the wi-fi as it was locked down to mac address! So anyway back to normal business now.

Hi, I have had reports of staff users logging on to hap but it dumps them back at the log on screen? I asked my brother just now to try externally from our school as my log on and it works fine as an admin? COuld there be something I have broken as HAP has been working fine for ages! Thanks

Panic over. A new policy had been created with loopback, that seemed to cause the whole issue, by my fellow techy. He came in and spotted it straight away!

Came in this morning and half user complaining they are not getting policies applying. Did a GPO modelling test and one DC is not applying gpos. So I'm invetigating, but while doing so is there any way to force all users to other DC in the mean time? Thanks

Hi, I have been staring at GPOs all day and now when I want to stop users viewing and changing folder acls I can't find the GPO. Could someone help me out as my eyes are fried! Thanks

We currently have a shared folder called staff that all the staff have access to. Within that are folders such as Admin, pupil premium, geog, humanities etc. This morning somebody noticed that the pupil premium folder had been deleted by presons unknow. I restored it with shadow copy from yesterday lunch which nice. However I have now been asked to lock it down so staff can't delete folders! I could set permissions on all these folders so that staff can't delete them but then they might delete subfolders. DO I then set it so they can't delete sub folders. Of course there are the files themselves. Do I do the same on that so that staff cannot delete anything at all in those folders? How much of a burden does this then create for staff to have to contact me to request a file to be deleted? Anyone any thoughts on this?

I don't have that option as far as I can tell with 1and1 I can either forward or use a home directory?

I need to clarify a bit here I think. The subdomain settings in my 1and1 control panel are somehow to blame for this rather than the moodle settings. I currently have the subdomain forwarding to the public IP address as a http redirect but no idea what else I could do?

Hi All, Currently I am creating anew moodle for our school and I currently have set Redirect to point to the public facing IP address. However when the browser hits that address it converts to the publice IP address then moodle complains that it will only accept connections to moodle.prentonhighschool.co.uk. So I set moodle to carry on anyway from there so it then tries to go to moodle.prentonhighschool.co.uk but, yes you guessed it, it converts back to the ip address and I'm stuck in a loop! Can anyone suggest how I can get round this? Thanks Reg
