  1. Yeah, it blocks youtube on some machines but not others... was told .9 would sort it but it hasn't. Haven't had chance to report it yet but will do...
  2. There is a custom gpo that can be used to do this. It's here. It allows you to remove more than just the Libraries, we're using it here on our W7 machines in the office.
  3. I had to check if it was blocked, and it wasn't.... Reported to BGFL and blocked internally, but: http://board.koffer.ee/files/what_has_been_seen_cannot_be_unseen_695.jpg
  4. It definitely seems better but i'm not sure it's completely fixed either.... had a few occasions where it seems to have 'hung' ie but closing it down and re-opening it works. Sometimes a refresh works. Not had any issues with random loggoffs...
  5. I thought she was mine! I got one off her and was wondering how to tell the missus that she's got competition... if ruth20 is already cheating on me she can get stuffed!
  6. sorry to dig up an old thread but did you find a solution to deploying the runtime? We're needing to do it and i'm trying to find an easier way than doing it individually on each machine! Thanks
  7. that url is right, but you can't view anything. I spoke to Paul yesterday and it was updated in less than 5 minutes. Not sure what he did though....
  8. Rolled out the update to our IT Room machines yesterday. Hopefully we won't get any more reports of "the internet not working". Only time will tell....
  9. Just been told by David to contact Forensic themselves as they should be releasing an update tool that should get us up to date. Couldn't find a phone number for support on their site so filled in the support form and we'll see what happens. If anyone gets it, let me know! I'm fed up with crappy internet!
  10. Another option is to create a share for this program only. In the properties of the share you can limit the amount of concurrent connections. Point the shortcut to this share and i think you should be ok. Not tried this myself but seem to remember it being an option for another program i looked at.
  11. Forensic has released it, Link2ICT are testing it at a few schools and looking to release fully to all schools Monday/Tuesday next week....
  12. I've always found O2 to be quite helpful whenever i've spoken to them. I have heard of people who have had a nightmare but whenever i ring them they do their best to help me. I've been with them about 7 years now (on simplicity now) and have no plans to change provider in the future.
  13. i actually had a teacher complain that the internet wasn't working because she didn't know how to get to google!
  14. Or just Ctrl + S
  15. I tried it on Window 7 the other day and still had issues... ie8 would hang and eventually it would come back and display the page. Firefox was fine. I've put it onto an xp machine as well, not heard back from that user yet so hopefully a good sign! Anyone else tested it on W7?
  16. We have access to all machines, but it prompts for mslogon credentials every time. It is also logged in the event viewer so you can see who looked, when, and for how long (by seeing the connection/disconnection times). There needs to be a trust of the IT Staff, i could if i wanted access any files anywhere on the network. I have better things to do and know that unless i have been asked/have good reason i shouldn't be accessing other peoples areas. Without trust we can't do our job efficiently!
  17. Poo. Thanks anyway!
  18. Did you discover a way to get it to filter down? I'm trying to do a similar thing and can't face going to each 'group' and setting it manually!!!
  19. Poor Bear... he was only doing what came naturally to him, protecting his home. I'm glad that both the bear and the guy are ok, but what did the guy think would happen!
  20. If you open mmc.exe then add the Active Directory snap in you can then create a custom mmc for them to see only what they need to. Select the OU that they need access to, right-click and choose "New window from here". Save that as a custom msc and you should be sorted.
  21. We'll see how it goes - if it gets too much to manage then we will remove the automatic increase and leave them to it!
  22. Students get 1GB with a automatic bump to 1.5GB if they hit it. We get an email telling us that it's been increased and we then go an delete the music/videos/photos/ etc that is filling up their area. Once they go beneath 1GB their quota is reset back down to 1GB. Only just implemented this so yet to see how it works but not having too many problems so far...
  23. Just looked on amazon.... £29.70! [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Call-Duty-Modern-Warfare-DVD/dp/B0021AETOU/ref=dp_cp_ob_vg_h__title_1]Link[/ame]
  24. Thanks. But it is considering you don't get anything physical like you do with the others!
  25. Anybody found a good deal on the PC version? Seems like most supermarkets aren't selling PC Games any more and all the online sites i've found (and trust) are selling for £35... anyone found one under £30?
