Does anybody know if they have fixed the login screen background in 1703 yet, holding back from upgrading until this is fixed. 1511 and 1607 work fine.

Careful doing the in-house upgrade. 1607 will put all the apps back on and 1703 seems to still have quite a few issues. We are still on 1511 but think we will do a slow upgrade with a new image once 1703 is sorted. But by then we will probably be on 1909.

So is 6.0.76 out or still in beta?

I'm also utterly stunned. At the Bett show the whole Microsoft showcase was demonstrating how easy Microsoft Classroom was to use. They had 30 positions with Surface Tablets all using Microsoft Classroom. Imagine all those schools who participated going back and thinking we will transfer to Classroom. Think Microsoft are losing the plot at the moment, even with Windows 10 they keep changing key things without any quality control.

We use fine grained password policy for staff and use JiJi password expiration software which sends an email to staff 14 days before the password is due to be changed and every day up until they change it. Students are not required to change their password.

BTW where did you find the information??

WTF just spent months getting this all up and sorted. Was looking at it replacing our VLE!!!!

Anybody manage to get the login screen background working with group policy yet. Downloaded the 1703 from VLSC and did a fresh build alongside a fresh 1607 build and the 1607 works but the 1703 does not. Have uploaded the latest ADMX policy files as well. Just shows the default Microsoft background.

Put this on and the login screen background still does not work from group policy.

I've had the same issue with text displaying after upgrading to 1703 from 1607. You are right that logging off fixes it but after a while it keeps coming back and then seems to mess everything up. Have tried multiple options of 1607 but the same on all of them. Only does it in a domain, on my computers at home it is fine. Using local profiles. Keeping away from it for now until the ISO's are out on VLSC so can do a fresh build.

Go to Run, GPEdit.msc, Windows Settings, Security settings, Local Policies, security options, User Account Control: admin approval mode for the built-in administrator account - set to enabled.

Upgraded to 1703 from 1607 and now my sign in screen background has gone back to a standard Microsoft one!!!

Looks like they have brought back Cortana on the Education version!!!!

Are the ADM'S and ADMX'S not inside the ISO?

Have they released the Remote Server Admin Tools yet for 1703?

What is the result of a Group Policy Result wizard. Try running it on a machine where a student has logged in. Also is this for Edge or Internet Explorer?

Cheers guys. Just replaced the user-192.png with a transparent image of the same size and now does not show.

But I want to get rid of it not replace it with a logo.

Has anybody managed to completely remove the default user image from the login screen on Windows 10 1607. I don't want account pictures or a branded logo, just want it gone.

Wasn't this advertised a short time ago with applications finishing on the 24th February?? Any idea why it is posted again?

Does anybody know if this still works when you disable the lock screen and enforce do not require Ctrl, Alt, Del ??
