Hi All, What's the best practice nowadays for to do a Win 10 Build and deploy across your school/college? Is is WDS? SCCM? InTune? We currently use a WDS server and I need a fresh Win 10 image with MS Office 2021. However before I go through this process I am wondering if I am wasting my time and should be looking to do it another way...... Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

Hi all, Can anyone recommend a free partition tool that will enable me to move a recovery partition? Or does anyone know of a trick to do this? I want to increase the C Drive disk space but cannot as the recovery one is at the end. Picture attached explains it. Thanks

I too have been having untold amounts of issues - I wasn't sure if it was something our end or not but am leaning towards the Summer update being the culprit.......we have had issues with Cover not displaying for certain days - crashes with Transaction Roll back . Single Sign on not working and then the next day it works. Staff complaining SIMs is slow when it never used to be. I wonder if other institutions are experiencing the same issues?

Yes Capita have released a Patch and they do state that this will clear any Home page configurations for all users

I too get a similar error - it gives Value 67 instead of 55???!!! I logged it with Capita yesterday - await their reply.

Hi All, I have done a quick search on this before posting - I have also logged a support case - but Capita seem to use System Manager 6 which I was told is not supported (at least I think I was told this.....). However my query - how do I find out what permissions are required to edit/add a new group and how do I go about manipulating this..... I want to do 2 separate things. I want to allow staff "Read Only" access to Cover Manager I want to allow staff access to InTouch to be able to send SMS messages to students/staff Is all this achievable in System Manager or somewhere else in SIMs? Hi, Last October Apple introduced Zero Touch Enrolment (https://www.apple.com/education/docs/DEP_Guide.pdf) if you purchased the iPads since then you should have been offered this via the reseller - the iPads would then be configured with all the Apple accounts and relevant Apps that you specify and the individual end user E-Mail addresses prior to being shipped to you. If you haven't opened them all up yet then maybe you can ask your reseller to do this for you? HTH Andy

Hi, Thanks for reply - I didn't think I could - someone suggested it was possible via CNAME but our DNS is internal only so couldn't see how that worked....I used to use ISA at my previous institution and now you mention it I vaguely remember us being able to do it via that.....(it was when it was replaced with TMG)

@Amdian - thanks for adding comment - we too have supplied an i5 with 4G - the addition to the connect.ini is a new one to me - do you know happen to know what is does by any chance? I wonder if any one else on this forum have had experience of adding this entry in their connect.ini?

Hi Vikpaw, Thanks for suggestion - I should have mentioned we have reduced the Diary rows and this does appear to reduce the number of crashes but not eliminate it entirely........maybe its a bug that needs correcting or a memory leak - Capita themselves have admitted in writing to me that they have memory issues with Sims.net which they hope to resolve in future releases.

Hi All, I have been looking at the problem reported to me when I first joined the school nearly 2 years ago. This is where SIMs crashes for the person doing cover with the following error. I have raised this with Capita a few times and gone through the usual suspects - I am of the opinion that having too many Cover Diary rows (in this case 100 set) is the cause but the person doing cover doesn't want to reduce the rows. Has anyone else experience this and have managed to crack it? The PC used is of high spec - we use full SQL etc. AV (Sophos) has been eliminated. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks Andy

Brilliant - I wish I had found this before is started using SOLUS3 - we use SCCM so were looking to see if this could be done. Have you had any feedback on this - issues that I need to look out for? Thanks
