those are too big. basically, all im thinking of at the moment is an iphone, but if i were to recommend you a standalone mp3 player, id say creative zen stone or ipod shuffle or something like that. reason is, you'll soon see you can't be arsed to carry a cell phone + another device the size of your cell phone with you at all times. and they all play the music just the same (i mean zen stone and say zen vision). i got meself a zen vision:m some time ago and now the only person using it is my girlfriend, as she's carrying a bag with her at all times =) it just takes too much pocket space, just as annoying as bloatware

did it start shutting down after the msconfig operation? maybe try a system restore to a point before that.

totally agree. I started thinking about Linux when I saw some compiz vids on youtube. Thought that looked cool, and got myself Kubuntu. needed to reinstall it once, as I managed to ruin my system by installing gnome-desktop and then using apt-get autoremove hehe but basically, every minute spent on fixing and playing around with Linux is worth the time. right now i managed to get it under control, with Compiz and AWN working perfectly (almost) on Kubuntu, and I know a load more about computers than I used to. i dont even use windows anymore. question: why would i ever want to use another distro?

Was browsing through a rather new website called Code Chronicles; what was supposed to be a guide through the history of programming turned out to be a fancy ASP.Net ballyhoo. This is the first time I saw Silverlight in action, I guess it’s alrite, but don’t see any difference between that and Flash… maybe apart from the right click controls on videos, I liked that. Anyway, there’s almost no information about other programming languages that are not related to ASP.Net; however I still liked some aspects of the site. Those are: the download section, with Express Editions of Visual Web Developer 2008 and SQL Server, and the support section. Here is where it gets interesting: Microsoft prepared quite a few tutorials vids for ASP.Net. I watched a few of them, and I have to say I like them. The authors assumed that there would be people watching the site with all possible backgrounds, so there are videos for people who never did any programming before, and for those who are familiar with PHP, etc. The vids pretty much make up for the rest of the site (even though I do like the layout). They are a bit bugged though – I had to watch them in fullscreen. Could be just me though.

I agree, with Visual Basic experience you learn .net more efficiently. Thing is, this is also probably the most profitable language atm...

try reloading explorer.exe You can do it manually by right clicking the shortcut>Properties>Change Icon>Browse. Most programs store the icons in their exe file. Select>OK>Apply>OK.

this is cool. I played Rogue Spear a lot, always spent hours on planning the perfect route. haven't played the new versions though, heard that Vegas is awesome. any recomendations?

online games are so addictive =) been playing WoW for a long time, quit recently. still miss it at times though. heard that GTA MMO is going to be totally awesome I really like Rockstar, have very high expectations towards them.

are you by any chance using vista64? i had the same problem with files on CDs burned on Vista. Vista could read them, XP couldn't. I was using standard Vista, not 64

try opening the language bar from the taskbar and then settings and change 'default input language'
