  1. I've got a large number of Photoconductor units building up in the storeroom. I've been trying to find out whether we can throw these out with our other rubbish or whether they need to be disposed of correctly. Can't find anyone who recycles the units like they do our empty toner cartridges or anyone that offers a disposal service. So do I risk throwing them out or is there another option?
  2. I only played them demo but thought it looked good but not £40 good. I'm waiting for it to drop at least half the price and probably get it second hand. Jack Black was an awesome choice for the voice acting in this.
  3. During the summer I've upgraded the hard disks of our xServe and reinstalled OSX server. I've reinstalled all relevent software and reconfigured everything as before. However trying to install and setup Deploy Studio seems to be a problem. Once installed I use the Deploy Studio Assistant to enter the 'setup a deploy studio server' process. The first step is to enter the credentials that deploy studio will use. This is an OD administrator created specifically for this purpose named 'Deploy'. I cannot use this user or even the local administrator to setup deploy studio, evertime it returns the error 'insufficent credentials you are not autherized to administer this server'. I am using my Macbook with screen sharing to undertake this task on the xServe but don't see how this should be causing an issue. Deploy Studio forums have pointed towards an issue with the proxy server however there is no proxy server in use. I'm not sure why I can't setup Deploy Studio on this server any ideas?
  4. You can access ePortal via a PDA however you need the licence for it. We looked into this last year and was told by Serco that the licence is currently free during the testing period. I was informed however that this period has been ongoing for at least 2 years and there was no information on when it would be chargable or indeed an idea of the cost. The access is therefore technically free (for now), only cost is the purchase of PDA's ad the related costs.
  5. Not sure about error's in the script its a bit over my head unfortunatly. However have you considered Deploy Studio for imaging? The creation of a workflow with the OD and AD binding is incredably simple. Its basically a case of pointing it to the right server(s) and giving it correct admin credentials.
  6. WOW this looks right up my street. How does it play comparative to Oblivian? I found Oblivian to be somewhat frustrating at times, the main story seems to move really slow as there are huge numbers of side quests. I also found the combat system a bit difficult and if Demon Souls is loads harder I might not be able to get into this one. Graphics are top notch from what I've seen. Also can PS3's play imports no problem? I would have thought there would be issues as there always has been in the past with Playstation consoles
  7. I get relevent members of staff to create a survey using word. I then use the word document to create a the survey using the form tools with Acrobat Pro 9. It can be mailed out and the responses collected in a mailbox.
  8. Boo! My Dad gets REALLY angry with people calling him on the home phone, can't imagine how bad it'll be when they start calling his mobile
  9. Did he spoil the magic of the show for you? I always imagined that once you got on the show it would then be ruined for you if you watched it again.
  10. All my Favourites there, Jayce and the Wheeled warriors was awesome
  11. I'm 27 on my birthday and I'm getting the tattoo across one of my shoulders quite large. I've wanted it for ages and have been spurred on by my mate getting optimus prime in flames down his arm. I inted to have a thick border round the logo where I can have (eventually) my kids names added. And no I've already been told Wiley Kit and Wiley Kat are out of the question for kids names. and Male BTW
  12. I'm getting a Thundercats tattoo for my birthday next week
  13. In fact you should see ALL the studio Ghibli films

    Mac imaging

2 - 3 hours sounds about right from my experience. This time includes not only the copy of the image to the server but also the conversion of this image in preparation for use in deploy studio.

    Mac imaging

In the end I completely removed Deploy Studio, the repository, the new and old .nbi files & the related user account used for access. I then recreated the deploy studio setup from scratch which now works perfectly fine. The problem was most likely something trivial but as I didn't originally create this setup I was finding troubleshooting somewhat tough. As far as speed issues go I've not encountered anything of the sort. I can push an image out to the room of 30 machines within an hour and a half (although its relatively small). Are you using the latest version of Deploy Studio? I noticed a significant improvement in speed when using v1.0rc12

    Mac imaging

We've got a suite of Macs which were installed and configured by Jigsaw. Following succesful use of these machine the school has bought a cabinet of 20 Macbooks. The problem is I'm having trouble imaging the new Macbook which is now configured exactly as I want it. Our current suite is configured to netboot into Deploy Studio where the machine can be re-imaged or have the image create from it. This works perfectly fine however after connecting a new Macbook to the network and attempting to do the same the netboot does not work. Server logs show the BSDP DISCOVER is recieved and a BSDP Offer is sent but the Macbook resets and boots locally Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? EDIT: I've just noticed that the Macbook is actually restarting at the point it should be performing the netboot. I tested the Doply Studio netboot as working correctly by connecting my Macbook Pro to the network and performing a netboot.
  18. HDCP protects the video and audio as it travels through the video port. So where you could stream a DVD, Blu Ray may not work. I've heard that mac hardware can give untold amounts of problems when playing Blu Ray even with bootcamped XP. AnyDVD should solve the problem as it states that you can "Watch movies over digital display connection, without HDCP-compliant graphics card and without HDCP-compliant display." One other issue I'd keep in mind is when playing video with XP under bootcamp I've had intermittent audio interference. Searching the net I found this was something to do with the wireless under XP. Turn it off and all will be well
  19. The theory is sound. I'd try to connect everything and play a DVD with powerDVD first. It would be better to find out you've got a problem with HDCP authentication before you purchase the Blu Ray drive. Thinking about it you could still have a HDCP authentication problem once you use PowerDVD with a Blu Ray disk. Its probably safer to spend the extra money on the standalone player.
  20. Cheers for those links they had some interesting information and led me on to a few other PSP related sites. Handheldlearning It should be interesting to see exactly how these are used in class, or indeed if the actually get used correctly. I can see these only coming out on the last day of term for the kids to play games on.
  21. Is anyone using PSPs in the classroom? We've had quite a few of these ordered for use during lessons. I'm not entirely sure how the teachers intend to use these and was wondering whether anyone else has any experience with these. In particular has anyone found any issues with adding these things to the network?
  22. SF4 is probably my next purchase, that is unless my mate demands his copy of COD4 back then I'll have to get a replacement. Its still over £30 used in Gamestation!!
  23. Its trying its hardest to be Gears Of War. I was slightly disappointed with the gameplay, I'll rent it to check out the online capabilities before I commit my £40 to this.
  24. Have you got any workgroups setup? If so check that the applications settings aren't switched to manage or if you prefer managed settings add your applications to the allow list
