  1. Yes, that's what I have done too... have you managed to remove an app from an iPad and push it to another? I don't think that's possible, and that's what we want to do. I've just bought 3, selecting 'managed distribution' rather than redeemable codes, and one of the iPads has the app, the other two have it but it's greyed out. I thought it might be because I've only granted the licence to one ID as usual, therefore it's only pushed it out once. If you get what I mean!!
  2. I'm always trying to look for a pattern! Sorry I can't help.
  3. Before I buy 20 apps through VPP to do a test, I wondered if anyone could clarify the process? I'm about to buy app through VPP and I would like to be able to deploy, recall and redploy paid apps through Meraki. I only use one Apple ID though, so is that possible? @Joanne, do you know?
  4. How are you managing them? I'm no expert but I have managed to deploy apps silently with Meraki (see here). Right or wrong, I have all 131 of them on one ID.
  5. Many thanks for this info @biz and @Jehanzeb, much appreciated. I will try that and let you know!
  6. Thanks biz for this. I appreciate all the solutions - AC would be a pain as I'd have to physically get them all in (although we only have 131 not 1031!) so I'd prefer Meraki if possible! I'm not sure how to do this, I've got iPhone CU (thanks @Arthur) but I don't know what to do next. Is it a General Configuration Profile or do you upload it in Credentials?
  7. Lucky you! We very rarely see snow down here! It's something I've been told to do by RM - see Changes to Google SSL and RM Safetynet Plus | RM Education - What we do
  8. I'm just starting looking at this having put it off for a while! Anyone know what you do about getting them onto iPads that are supervised with AC and managed with Meraki? Is this something you have to do @Joanne?
  9. - says "Still, if you must, just must install Comic Sans on your iPad, now you can." Haha!
  10. Thanks @Arthur! Have you used it? I wondered if once you've installed a new font on the iPad whether it would show up in the Google Docs app? Currently it only gives me a choice of 11, whereas there are loads in Pages.
  11. Thanks @jmak for having a look. I don't have Century Gothic on my PC version of docs, neither in the usual font list or 'More Fonts', but I do have Amaranth which is similar-ish. You're right, if I use Amaranth on the PC it shows up on the iPad. We do have Chrome on our iPads, but if you try to use Docs through it it takes you to the app. Always good to learn something!!
  12. Thanks - I guess it's all about what fonts are actually on the iPad? I don't have Century Gothic. Am I right in thinking you can't install any font on an iPad simply, let alone the legendary comic sans?
  13. @fiza yes I know... but I'm here to serve!! My mistake @caffrey, it is! It isn't on the iPad version so I assumed it wasn't on the PC version either. On the iPad you don't have a lot of choice at all and I don't know if you can add a font to Google Docs on the iPad. She wants to install Word Essentials on her iPad and I'm trying to steer her away to Docs!
  14. Many thanks @Joanne for documenting all of this! I struggled to find a way to push out apps without a password prompt and found this page invaluable: https://meraki.cisco.com/blog/2014/04/be-a-ninja-systems-manager-silent-app-push/ I also use both Apple Configurator and Meraki, preparing iPads with AC and adding the Meraki URL in the Setup tab, so they appear on Meraki automatically.
  15. One of my teachers wants to use Comic Sans (yes, I know...) in Google Docs and obviously it isn't there, Sassoon isn't either. Does anyone know of a child friendly alternative? Thanks in advance :-)
  16. In the way I did it (with the link) I did have to enter in an ID once at the start because the app licences were granted to that ID, so it needed to be associated with the iPad. Once I did it though, I didn't need to enter it again or put in the ID password for each app.
  17. Yes, it was a life saver! Don't miss a step though - I did and it didn't work without a password.
  18. I'm not an expert in this by any means, but I do deploy apps without a password prompt, although I had to enter an ID (we have a whole school one) on each device once at the start. I did it by following this to the letter - https://meraki.cisco.com/blog/2014/04/be-a-ninja-systems-manager-silent-app-push/
  19. That's a great idea! I would be interested, any time between mid morning and mid afternoon would be better as I'm travelling with a group and I'm not sure what time we will get there or leave.
  20. We have 150 iPads and have class dropbox accounts. Not sure if that's the most efficient way but it certainly works ok!
  21. Yeah, I kind of wondered whether that was the case, or whether I was missing something!
  22. Thank you - didn't really think of myself as a 'female tech' but I'm quite pleased to be one now!!
  23. Hello all I'm about to manage my first 30 Chromebooks - should I enroll them onto Meraki as well as GAFE? I was going to, but thinking about it I'm not actually sure why... Has anyone else done so?
  24. Ah ok, thanks! Will have a look into it.
