Hi All, Hope someone has had the same issue but I have setup AC2 and school manager but when I prepare any iPad every thing copies across ok but then on the iPad after the Wi-Fi selection screen, a remote management comes up and we get an error “The request timed out” Nothing related to our setup In school because I have tethered the iPad to my phone to give it a direct connection out. Any help would be much appreciated.

There are many ways to deploy EWP. You can push out the MSI as is, then point the shortcut to EWP with a command line parameter for the config to be in a central shared location. You can push out the MSI as is, then push out via script a customised config to each client. And the same goes for the above with the portable version but with the option for running it from all from a shared location instead of the client.

I know Im a bit late to the party with this one but I have just downloaded it from https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/lrs-validation-tool and ran it on my Windows 11 laptop, launches OK, but I have no data to throw at it. I have no access database engines installed, just Office 365 and visual studio 2019.

I’m on it, leave it with me as I’m sure I can sort this out over the weekend.

Ok so I have found the issue and fixed it. I will release a new version in the next 30mins

I can confirm is doesn’t do anything, so I’ve labelled it as an issue, I will get onto it as a matter of urgency tonight, patched version available tomorrow morning.

That is exactly how it was meant to be used. Disable a feature globally then allow it via the override for users in a specific AD group.

Just for your information, the clipboard issue happens for me when trying to launch SecureClient over a remote session/VNC or something similar, makes sense really. We use LANSchool and I was able to log them all this morning and launch SecureClient on mass, without issues.

I can send you out a version that suits your environment. Just email me over your edited config and I can bundle it in an MSI.

Like I said, I rebooted the computers and the error went away.

I took it with a pinch of salt when it was sent to me, people using the system are likely to have no access to task manager. When are these people going to live in the real world? [emoji1787]

Had this from BTL support yesterday I have had confirmation that the clipboard operation error message is due to a task being ran which is stopping SecureClient from checking the clipboard. You can fix this by doing the following; Open Task Manager, click the Processes tab and do the following; kill process- rdpclip.exe then file->new task> type rdpclip.exe -> enter. After that opening SecureClient it will be able to finish its check and start up, if this does not fix the issue you can still use SecureClient, it just wont be able to complete its clipboard cache check which is what prompted the message

I installed SecureClient last week and I also received the clipboard error. I made sure surpass.com was listed as an authentication exception on smoothwall, installed both the 32/64 bit sql compact software, then rebooted PC. All then seemed fine.

I think for now, we will stay as we are. Electronic online exam papers will not be around for a few years yet. If not longer, I hope!

Not really thought about it because because EWP is only geared up for writing answers. There would need to be a conversion from PDF to Word, then Word to RTF, to even begin to think about importing into EWP. Can’t see it’s value other than the student not having to look at a physical question paper. Against the work involved converting even if it allowed to be done….

Just a quick update folks, EWP 5 will be released at the end of this week, ready for you to test over half term, and deploy if your exams start in November onwards. Changes: fixed bugs which caused the accented characters from loading quickly, as there was a slight delay. New accented languages have been added also for Italian and Russian. Biggest change is the theme of EWP, the blue has gone in favour to follow the new Office 365 theme for Word using white and greys, I actually like it, and it follows Word to make the transition between Word and EWP consistent. If like my school, they have decided to continue to use a coversheet (old form 4) but slightly tweaked, then there is a new config option to override and allow printing of a generic coversheet almost identical to form 4. If you require and tweaks or offer suggestions, get them to me asap, ready for the release of v5. And yes it works on Windows 11 too! Thanks for your continued support!!! It does, yes, but I have never used it so can’t comment on it usability, and quality of results.

No sorry, Microsoft Word has that nailed on as almost a perfect feature, I can’t compete, on a free level. I’d love to have it but would cost ££ for something decent.

We preferred Parents use an external method over creating a Sims ID but they have the choice.
