  1. Please can someone explain why it is so damn hard to implement SIMS.net Business Objects? The documentation you are given to work with is serverly lacking but have finally been able to login using them. Even the simplest task like get all students is an epic challenge. which currently i haven't been able to over come. Well Rant Over.
  2. I have perental access on my list of SIMS.net integration, personnally i would stay with moodle and host it intnerally then you can integrate with SIMS.net and your administration time in then minimal.
  3. i have been able to get round this by using visual c#.
  4. Im trying to load dlls in vb.net, can anyone give be a good exmple on how to do this? I'm working on limited information as the dll is referenced in a configration file but i dont know how to call it in the application. Thanks in advance
  5. Try this tsql -H XX.XX.XX.XX -p 1414 -U sa -P sapassword > use sims > select * from asm_via_aspect > go
  6. these should be automatically created on install of the timetable block. Have a look in SQl Server 2005 Management Studio and see if there are any views with the prefix mdl_
  7. The timetable block relise on the enrolment plugin for the settings to connect to the database this doesn't have to be enabled. Have the views been created for mdl_student_timetable_v1_0 and mdl_staff_timetable_v1_0? how are you getting this error "mdl_enrolment_v1_0 object, says invalid object"?
  8. the enrolement view is created after the enrolement plugin is configured. remove the enrolment plugin and reinstall and configure, then it should work.
  9. I think your connecting to the wrong port. You are searching a MS SQL 2000 Server not MS SQL 2005 Server. Change the port to 1427 and see if that works.
  10. What version of ms sql server are you running?
  11. @kieran8055 Have you done all the other bits in CyberNerd's post? What OS are you running on?
  12. Hi All, I have update SIMS.net Timetable Block for Moodle to version 1.2.1. CHANGELOG FIXED: Course links with incorrect course id numbers.
  13. Hi Dan, The documentation use to include a feature which would autocreate users ad when they were enroled on sims. I have removed it as i'm am currently re-writing this module to allow for greated flexibility. What you need to do is correctyly fill your ad employeedid fields with either upn of staff code. Install FreeTDS if required. (this normal stops it working if not setup correctly) download, install and configure the SIMS.net enrolment plugin, but dont enable it. download, install and configure the SIMS.net timetable block Then hopefully it should magically work
  14. The Access Manager is standalone and is not required if you only want to display the timetable.
  15. As long as your web server can ping the sims server you shouldn't have a problem with your setup.
  16. Can you expand on integrate? It shouldn't affect LDAP Capture as i haven't modified the ldap code just the configuration.
  17. Hi All, I'm please to announce the release of the SIMS.net Erolment Plug-in for Moodle, this is modified version of the eternal database plug-in tailored to SIMS.net use. I have updated the SIMS.net Timetable Block to use this Plug-in instead of the external database plug-in. I have also revamped the documenation on Moodle Docs is has more detailed information about setting up FreeTDS for Linux and Windows.
  18. Has any implemented a system of pupil id cards? Were looking at the feasibility of introducing one system that will allow cashless catering, auto registration to sims.net and open enough to allow us to add other systems to it.
  19. @matt40k I had a look at your report, it currently only lists students, i can't find a away in sims to show students and teachers with there roles. Do you know of a way?
  20. @matt40k: what rights does a user need apart from third party reporting? As currently i have created a user called SIMS2AD and it logs in fine but command reporter dies with an error of no permission on report.
  21. can you point me in the direction of the command reporter documentation?
  22. I'm in the process of converting the sims2ad to a moodle module to allow for better administration.
  23. I doubt that is possible from a linux box.
  24. I've seen mark thomas live twice now and currently reading his book belching out the devil. He's a man worth listen to, you either leave laughing or crying. Most of his work is on you tube. Really enjoyed him taking on the stupid law about not being able to protest in Parliament Square with out a licence. Also he holds the world record for most protests in 24 hours, this included a protest where he was being protected by police in Parliament Square whilst anarchists ran riot so he wouldn’t be arrested by coppers from other areas. Classic!
  25. So does our authority, but it doesn't stop us from using moodle.
