  • Biography
Hello to you who took time to read about me  . I am an ICT consultant expert in Schools MIS
  • Occupation
    ICT Consultant

  1. Phil is this KB90486 - LA Utility to edit School Number (4321 edit) that you are referring to? If so it states it is only available to LA's but many academies are going to capita now for the support as the sponsors will not pay the extra. This has certainly been my findings. The 'patch' would be really useful for the new academies coming through.
  2. Hello all, I’m Michelle and have been actually ‘stalking’ Edugeek for years but never intro’d myself.... I started my working life nursing, went from there to a helpdesk doing IBM, AS400, RPG support for a global company, then onto a local LA for over 7 years following maternity leave ... for the last 3 years i have worked as a freelance consultant, doing anything Educational IT relate, from MIS installation, conversions, training (but a bug bear of mine is that MIS often is very much under used but costs schools a small fortune to have...) I have been involved in BSF/academies projects, VLE implementing, plus school SLT related matters like Ofsted, SEF and so on and on and on... I sound like I have been around for years and am really old, but i'm not :-) Love my job, love working in the education sector and love the fab knowledgeable peps on this site.. I will get around to coming to a seminar/conference one day to say hi in person. Did see you at BETT but never got a chance to stop.
  3. Read all above with interest.. I have the same at one of my schools, can't wait to get back in there this week to check out the format of the logo's etc as know they have added a new one recently, they had memory issue and al the main SIMS admin machines had an upgrade... It also opens up two word templates each time one is access via sims (in any any reports, not just individual but this is since rebuilt in CC4) Interesting and thanks all. M
  4. I agree entirely with Rob. (Hi BTW)... Yes of course 14-19 & SEN, but also traveller students, and not forgetting the Every Child Matters agenda, Safeguarding Children, auditing EMA. It is all going to eventually drive this forward. I can see it coming. But will continue to enjoy reading all the threads on edugeek in my spare time until it does. Michelle "Don't you just love the glorious summer"
  5. Hello all, I am an ICT/MIS Consultant who is contracted to a new Academy. I have been asked to help 'find' a VLE expert / consultant who can be contracted for the first year to get the moodle site up and running, get the teachers engaged and ensure they are able to upload and manage content themsleves. Whilst showing a nominated support person the ropes. Any ideas where I can find such a person? They are looking for a really good and engaging site, better than 'normal'
  6. I cannot find a way other than extracting it as you say. Can’t believe a SIMS issue has defeated me What is it our mothers used to say? There is no such word as can’t... I will keep investigating.
  7. I'll have a look at school tomorrow, i'm sure we have done it but need to 'fiddle' before saying how, incase I am wrong and look like a right numptie
  8. Ah what a sweetie, Congratulations to you and your family. Look forward to you joining me making postings at random hours during the night now.. Welcome to parenthood
