  1. Hi, thanks for getting back to me, it is the active book we are trying to use. It was actually our technician who first found the problem, we have 7,8 and 9 installed, all came up with error about library not registered. He put them into xp sp3 compatibility mode which made 7 and 8 work, but when he did it with 9 files started to go missing.
  2. Sorry, wrong isbn, that was one for the assessment cdrom, not the active book.
  3. Hi, can anyone give me the fix for this please? I just had a laptop returned to me where exploring science decided to remove chunks of windows/office. ISBN 0-582-83630-1 tried contacting pearson who says they dont support it anymore and dont sell an equivelent.
  4. We keep boucing between blizzards and sun. Road outside school is gridlocked, even if school did close we couldnt get anywhere :/ (in Chesterfield)

    Snow!

Just got a message saying our school is shut, 30 mins after I normally set off.
  6. The Olympus uToughs have a viewfinder, although im not a huge fan of the image quality.
  7. We have a panasonic plasma active 3d tv, very good 3d, been told by friends with passive tv`s that its a better 3d effect. Neither I nor any of my friends have had problems with eye ache. One thing you might want to watch with active is that you shouldnt have any lights on, the mains frequency of the lights can give a strobe effect when viewing, Ive noticed this even with a little angle poise on in the corner of the room.
  8. Divaldo could you see if you can now get to the webpage http://derbyshire.inthehive.net for me please, would help me troubleshooting my problem. Thanks Robin
  9. Were using google dns servers so we resolve derbyshire.inthehive.net to the external address, however when trying to go to it the server just times out and we cannot even ping it, im trying to see if the internal ip is different to the external before trying to decide who to contact, kcom or capita or caya.
  10. Hi, could someone do me a favour and ping derbyshire.inthehive.net for me please and tell what its ip is from inside capita/kcom`s network, I can resolve it here but cant access it from within kcoms network (not taken capita services but taken kcom for connectivity, so cant use capita`s dns servers and kcom doesnt have any), im wondering if the ip is different on network to off, thanks.
  11. Weve stuck with kcom for internet but are running all services ourselves (already ran most of them anyway). Noticed the dns (dns resolver, not the domain name host)had gone down last night for all websites (the old embc dns, havent seen any info if theres a new one) so changed to googles (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and all was well (we go direct rather then through a proxy now). At the moment we seem to have the opposite problem then everyone else, we can send email but not recieve it (waiting for firewall change request to go through).
  12. Yep, it is, the format of the nsturesults table is nasty. Rather then having a different entry for each result it has as many results as it can fit in one entry then moves onto a new entry when it hits the max, all space sperated in the form mapid result mapid result which looks like 50 B 75 7.2 63 B etc. I created a user with read only access to the database for my scripts as im only reading from it (makes sure I cant mess it up). Im just not brave enough to write back to it.
  13. Im guessing its a cookie problem, you need to add Serco firstline - Facility Support and s3.parature.com to your trusted sites list (allow non https sites). Ive done a lot of php scripts that read from the assessments section, im not brave enough to write back to it
  14. Hi, the pdf is now linked off this knowledge base artice http://s3.parature.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=1718&hitOffset=27+26&docID=4736
  15. HI exactly the same problem, will look at adding it to a gpo. Redirection is done via GPO. Redirection is to a linux samba server. I havent rebooted the file server as the user can access the file share, its just not being redirected. The firewall is not blocking the server. I will try the rsop and dcdiag/netdiag. Another note, windows XP machines continue to work fine and redirect to the same location.
  16. Came into work this morning and found that all our windows 7 machines had stopped redirecting the start menu and desktop. The users can access the actual desktop and start menu shared location (I tried this in the current users session which had failed to redirect), and all their drives had mapped correctly. After looking around I tried the fix here http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-server-2008-r2/87121-kb2525332-stopped-folder-redirection.html which fixed the problem after rebooting. However after a further reboot the problem reappeared. The system had been working fine for ages and nothing has been changed recently, any ideas? Thanks Robin
  17. It has moulded into it BS-1363/ALP-60L. Just found it odd that a UK plug would be made that wasnt legal, and used by HP.
  18. Photo attached. As in photo its a rounded 3 pin laptop connector.
  19. Our laptops are currently being PAT tested by an outside company and weve had 2 fail so far because the earth pin has a plastic shield at the top of it (half insulated). These are official HP and Compaq mains leads, I was wondering if anyone else had come accross this? Thanks Robin
  20. Thanks for the reply, with a lot of help from our technician its now working after putting your xml in we realised it was something wrong with the headers we were sending. The error I was getting was because I had a newline at the end of the header, which put the
  21. Correction... I have now got a new error com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxParsingException: Illegal processing instruction target ("xml");
  22. Hi, thanks for the reply, sorry for taking so long to get back, only just noticed this. Is this the request for progresso or facility? still getting epr errors when trying this against facility. Thanks Robin
  23. Hi, someone else asked this question a few pages back and hasnt been answered, does anyone know if we took the KCom connection would we also have to have services? we already run everything in house except some webhosting and DNS so all we really require is a connection. Ive tried emailing DCC about a month ago about it but had no reply. The KCom quote we have seems ok on its own, but not very good if you have to take services on top.
  24. Hi, I was told it would work with programs written for the Facility API at the Derbyshire CMIS meetings (at Matlock) by a Serco staff member. Im assuming that they will extend the API for Progresso leaving the old Facility API calls in for legacy programs.
  25. My understanding is that Progresso will use SQL reporting services for report writing within Progresso, however if you want to get the infomation out to use in anything else (eg to use live information rather then having to export a spreadsheet) you have to use the API. Serco told me that if I write anything that uses the API and works with Facility it will work with the API for Progresso (ie. the API will be the same). Because Progresso will be hosted remotely by serco we wont have access to the SQL database directly (although I think we will probably be waiting until they release the locally hosted version).
