Hi, I've setup about 12 resource calendars in exchange 2007 and all have been setup as default i haven't made an extra changes to them. When trying to "Open a shared Calendar" in outlook some of them allow me to open them and add appointments (which i dont want to do) and some ask me to "Ask permission" (which i do want it to do). I've then logged onto that mailbox account and fired up outlook and changed the permissions on the calendar to Default "Reviewer" and HR to "Author". Although making this change people can still add diary events without permission. can someone divert me in the right direction? Thank you kindly ohh and Merry Christmas.!!!

Ok We've brought a couple of Ipads to test the logistics of using them in the classroom. I just trying to get the processes right in my head. If we had 20 iPads and a teacher came to me with an App they wanted to put on them, what would the process of deploying the app to the devices be? 1. is there a multiple docking station? 2. Would the students need thei own Apple ID?

Hi, We are looking for a school or academy that we can visit that gives ownership of a laptop to a student and then delivers the Curriculum through the VLE each lesson. We would like to visit one that this is how they solely operate. Do this happen at your establishment?

Hi all, We currently have a media room with 20 pc's in there, which all standalone from the network due to the size of the media files they are creating. Also this room is the other end of the site and the network path to this room is quite costly in terms of hops. So i had an idea of buying a new server and and making it a file server that they could all save their files to it. But then someone said well sometimes we probably would like to run normal IT lessons in that room so they would need to be on the network. So i then thought i would make this new server a Child domain controller and then they can choose which network to logon to. 1. Is this a suitable idea? 2. if so can people access resources like SIMS etc on the child domain? Thanks in advance for the advice regards Steve

Terminal Services (Server not Found)
Sunderwood replied to Sunderwood's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
Its just spamming this error 10 times every second. The description for Event ID ( 2453 ) in Source ( KIXTART ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: UserGetLocalGroups failed Error : Could not find domain controller for this domain. (0x995/2453). But like i said everyone on a desktop is fine so the domain controllers are fine. -
Terminal Services (Server not Found)
Sunderwood replied to Sunderwood's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
Hi, Yer i have checked that we have the service disabled on servers anyway.. I'm just trying to Remove and Rejoin a server to the domain to see if the authentication has messed up somewhere.. Regards -
Hi Guys, Hope someone can help with this.. We run a split network here in terms of we have 50/50 Thin client devices and Desktops. I came in this morning and no one could logon to a Terminal Client. It was throwing up errors about the Roaming profile?? So i first checked the desktops with the same user and they logged on fine with the correct profile. I then thought it must be my terminal servers that were the problem so i looked into Terminal Services Manager and no servers were in my list. If i tried to add these servers it gave me an error "server not found". So i rebooted all my TS servers and this seemed to solve the issue.... Until 1 hour later and it all happened again... Please help...

Hi All, I was wondering how people bakup their students and staffs data. The problem i have is that there isn't enough hours in the day. im backing up my Students/Staff/SimsData/webservers and SharedDrives and this is all happening as soon as we clock off up to the point we logon. Also do people limit students and staffs drives? out staff section is 120gb and we have around 70 staff. But our students section is 60gb and we have 600 students. What do other people do?

Yes it was under policies and i know when i applied it... Cheers

Thanks DMcCoy, I searched the Registry for our dns servers and found a key for Nameserver.. deleted it and restarted.. and now all is fine.. But how do i stop this from happening..??
-
i've actually brought the laptop home so i crack this problem... i already checked for manually configured DNS settings and they are all DCHP assigned... but allso it wont work if i do manually assign one. If i do ipconfig /all it shows the right ip address and dns settings etc... there must be a Reg key that has cached these settings.... but i cant find them..
-
No, thats not the prob... i went around a member of staffs hous on the wy home because i couldn't believe that there could possibly something wrong with the laptop. I connected to their wireless with my laptop and they internet works fine... I then tried to ping the gateway... fine!! i did a nslookup and there i think i found the problem... the nslookup dns server is the servers from work? so its caching the settings... i tried ipconfig /flushdns and registerdns but still no joy.... How can i flush these settings?

We only use a proxy server inside of the network... the local profile doesn't contain a proxy server
