IIS 403 errors since moving website on same server
AJWhite1970 posted a topic in Enterprise Software
OK, so I'm guessing I've done something stupid. Windows 2012R2 with IIS etc Been developing a new website in a folder off the webroot called 1. All working fine. Finish the development and move the entire structure down a folder into the webroot so it goes live. Everything is working fine apart from this php code I've been using to display files and folders in an iframe (neater than just turning on directory browsing) Encode Explorer :: A simple PHP file browser Now I get a 403 14 0 15 error when I try and browse into sub folders. The folders just contain pdf and office files. I've been looking but can no longer see the wood for the trees. Any suggestions as to what I've missed? Yours feeling very dumb Andrew -
What will be a appropriate Google earth version for a secondary school
AJWhite1970 replied to genesis's topic in Windows 7
You can either disable it for everyone by renaming/deleting this folder:- C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth\client\res\flightsim or you can restrict student access to this file:- C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth\client\res\flightsim\flightsim.ini Andrew -
I've got every PC Format from #15 to #120 in my parents loft. I can't remember the last time I read a computer mag, as others have said, google or edugeek is my goto. Going to have some fun going through the links earlier in this thread though Andrew

[sims] Output student photos as .bmp files
AJWhite1970 replied to AJWhite1970's topic in MIS Systems
Thank you so much for this. Downloaded, imported, run, crashed, edited the output bit in the report (as it's looking for your desktop), ran it again and I now have 1200 images This has saved me sooooo much time Cheers Andrew -
Hi Is it possible to output all the student photos in SIMS to individual bmp files, ideally with some form of unique identifiable name? Got to produce 1000 library cards over the summer and the card software will import a .bmp file which would make life 10000 times easier... Thanks Andrew

Broadcom network card? Several versions of their card drivers were buggy and I saw this behavior on a few PC's, the version I stuck with was b57nd60x.sys v15.2.0.5 (dated 01/06/2012) and since then not seen it happen again. Of course, if it's not a Broadcom, please ignore... Andrew

[iphone] Twitter client for IOS 4.2.1
AJWhite1970 replied to AJWhite1970's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
IOS 7 only -
My 02 plate Honda Jazz and I did 175000 miles together before the gearbox finally failed on it (and even then it tried to carry on for a while without 3rd gear but the exhaust fell off shortly after and at that point I scrapped the car...)

Could someone please advise if there is a free twitter client (real or third party) for the ancient IOS 4.2.1. Got a HOD with an old iphone 3G that needs the client while they are away with a school trip. Thanks Andrew

A monkey is sat in a bar drinking shots when the barman asks what is wrong. "I've just lost my job" said the Monkey "You're in luck" said the barman "there is a circus in the next town" The monkey looked puzzled and asked "What would a circus want a chartered surveyor for"

OK, so without paying full attention to what I was doing I created a new gmail account this morning while still logged into the school's google calendar. Now the primary email address for the calendar has switched to the new gmail address and the share security on the calendars has gone to pot. I can't see how to remove this new account as the primary and revert back to the old login. Is it simply a case of deleting the new gmail account or will that wipe out the calendars under the old email address as well? Yours an utter muppet Andrew

Hi Unless I've missed a thread in the search, can't see this has been asked since 2012 so... Looking to convert lots of old PDF documents into nice html5 flipbooks for the new website. What tools for this job, free or paid, would you suggest? Would rather host the files on-site than have it hosted by a third party externally if possible. Thanks Andrew

Hi Long story about our TASKalfa copiers ignoring the paper fold finishing option in the SIMS Exams module but working in absolutely everything else you can think of. Kyoceria want a .prn file to diagnose but the "Print to File" option appears to be missing when producing a candidates results document. Am I going mad or is this not an option for you as well? Thanks Andrew

New projector installation - what kit is required?
AJWhite1970 replied to SteveB_NI's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Yes, exactly that. The ones we use have a male vga, red white yellow scart, audio socket and a 'B' end USB all of which can be plugged directly into the projector as required. Andrew -
IT office, do you share or have a dedicated room?
AJWhite1970 replied to benjaminstevens93's topic in How do you do....it?
I live in a very large L shaped room sat in an open plan office in the middle, in front of me is one ICT lab of 35 PC's and to my right is another lab of 25 PC's. I share this space with my other technical member of staff and our desks are angled so our screens aren't visible to anyone in the labs. The servers are in a secure area in the same building with their own aircon, power etc so no noise issues from them. I actually enjoy being open plan, not only can I see and hear everything that's going on with regards to the teaching, but it makes supervising lunchtime open access a doddle. It also means we are very much front of house rather than shut away somewhere, lots of staff drop by and pupils can approach us if there are issues. I also have a second area in another building where I can go if I need somewhere quiet. I know I'm lucky in my working environment here, I've done my apprenticeship in windowless cupboards in my early years and can fully sympathise Andrew -

Hi You can get the wall plates pre-made which makes cable runs easier. Have a look here for example SG197 - -- - AV PLATE AND CABLE ASSEMBLY, 20M | CPC Andrew -
Hi and thanks for your replies. I already set a very basic user desktop background using BGInfo with just plain blue and a couple of lines of text in the bottom corner and that works fine. What I was looking to do was use a customized wallpaper for the login/lock screen rather than the user desktop background. I can do this on a standard Windows 7 PC by editing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background\ OEMBackground=1 and putting the file in C:\Windows\System32\Oobe\info\backgrounds but RDP appears to ignore this setting. Like I said, not a biggie, was just playing with it last week Thanks again Andrew

Run Chrome with this command line:- "c:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --user-data-dir="r:\Chrome\User Data" --disk-cache-dir="r:\Chrome\Cache" -- "%1" It makes the folder structure on the redirected network drive the first time it's run so no need to pre-populate the folders. Issues:- 1) You need to change the default application keys HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\ChromeHTML\shell\open\command and HKLM\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet\Google Chrome\shell\open\command 2) It's very version specific, you can't access a profile from a newer version of Chrome from an older version of Chrome so all workstations would have to be on the exact version of Chrome 3) You get a warning message each time you start saying performance on a network drive may cause corruption etc. If anyone knows how to suppress this, let me know Andrew

Hi Been doing a bit of corporate branding on the desktops and have a nice oemwallpaper working on all the PC's for the logon screen, lock screen etc. I have noticed however that if I RDP into a Windows 7 PC, it ignores the oemwallpaper and shows the default windows background during login instead. I've had a root through google but not found anything relating to Windows 7 (most solutions revolve round TS on W2Kx). Anyone know if this is possible to do? Not the end of the world if it isn't. Cheers Andrew
