  1. Same as @MrFrostmaul, it's completely random for us.....users, emails, browsers and PC's
  2. I reported this to MS in October last year............they tried to blame our internal IE policies but couldn't answer me when I pointed out that it didn't happen all the time or to just the same people, it was completely random. When I also pointed out that it happens on Chrome too they said that Chrome was the likely cause and closed the case. I'd be interested to hear what they tell you the cause is!!!
  3. Just checked our Smoothwall and it's accessible for Staff but blocked for students for the following reason: Content of type Plagiarism blocked: Domain/URL filtering
  4. We've had the same problem. Microsoft are "aware of the issue"!
  5. This is Brodie...he's a Rottweiler cross Staffie. We got him as a pup from the Dogs Trust in Kennilworth just over 3 years ago.
  6. The only people to get playback here are the Executive Head, the Operational Head, the Site Development Officer (SDO) and me. The SDO and I are the only ones allowed to produce and document evidence dvd's / footage, but in reality it's just me!! Live feed can be viewed by the rest of Senior Team, the Site Team and certain members of the Admin Team. Our policy basically states the above but it does need to be updated to include role and title changes within the senior team.
  7. Mine just arrived ......thanks guys. I opened them up in reception and, like Rich, had some very very strange looks.....they're just jealous!!!
  8. PM sent.....I missed the last one for various reasons so I'm sooooo happy that I'm able to get my details across for this one.
  9. Fantastic news, I'm really happy for you all.....especially the new addition.
  10. I still play (Vets now unfortunately)...and coach (juniors, seniors and Tag). As Oaktech says, try and find somewhere that does Tag Rugby as a start and move onto contact when your fitness levels have improved and/or you're happy that you know the basics. You still get the exercise but without the contact hits.....plus lots of clubs like mine run Tag training sessions and games throughout the off season (over the summer months).
  11. @ PeelyPie, I'd be interested to know how you got on with MS as we are about to roll out student email accounts and will be in the same situation as you.
  12. Did you get anywhere with this? I installed the update this afternoon and guess what's happened to me too!?! Took your advice and turned off HTTPS Inspection for the time being, thanks. Has anyone from Smoothwall seen this thread?
  13. @LeMarchand - Just PM'd you.
  14. We had to edit ours (Ricoh MFD's) so that the user has to enter their name/initials, a release code and a department code to bill the job to. If you want a copy of the one I edited so that you can see what I have done just let me know.
  15. When it works it's brilliant.....But we've had nothing but problems over the last 10 months or so. One of the updates brought the whole system to a grinding halt, the support team were very quick in helping us getting things back up and running, then the next update did exactly the same thing again!!! We finally managed to get things working again but yet again we had an issue with the next update. Once that was fixed things seemed to be ok...but we have noticed an increase in the time it takes to load pages....but as it was working we left it as it was. Then last week whilst just carrying out a periodic check I noticed that we hadn't had an update in ages so contacted support.....apparently we had been put on the update blacklist but hadn't been told. Now that is fixed we're having unauthenticated IP errors sporadically across the network. I know that there is a lot of love for Smoothwall on here (when it works I love it) but I thought you should know that it's not all good.
  16. Yes and no! It is also part of my roll to advise SLT on things such as this.......and whilst I can and often do point out that there are no best practice guidelines for things or that I am unable to advise them on certain issues I am also very aware that the brown stuff can run downhill very quickly!
  17. @elsigee40 - we already teach them how to use it safely and legally, I even do my bit in class as a CEOP........but there doesn't seem to be any guidelines in place to state what best practice is and to protect us if/when someone has an issue with how we do things....and as it's been raised with me I'm slightly concerned that i'm where the fingers are all going to point!!
  18. We get the students to sign an AUP and we also get the parents to sign if the student is below the age of 16. The reason for the question is because at a meeting I was asked what I would do if a parent didn't want their child to have an email account and where we stood legally if we issued email accounts without parental consent!?! My view is that we get the student to sign an AUP, then issue the network login details and their email details. At the same time the parents should be informed of what we are doing. If they do not wish us to do so they need to let us know ASAP that they wish to opt their child/children out of the scheme. I'd just like to get something in writing that I can use to cover myself should there be any repercussions.
  19. So today's question of the day is........ Do I need signed parental consent to issue email accounts to students below the age of 16........or can I just inform parents that we are going to issue them and give them the option to opt out on behalf of their children? Finally....and most importantly........can anyone direct me to where it states whatever the answer is so that I can show the SLT. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.
  20. 56 mile round trip.....but I don't mind, the drive back lets me calm down and chill before I get home.
  21. If you're struggling to think of what to get someone for Christmas. Get them a fridge and watch their face light up when they open it. I dreamed about drowning in an sea made out of orange fizzy pop last night. It took me a while to work out it was just a Fanta sea. What do you call a Mexican man leaving the hospital? Manuel. I needed a password eight characters long so I picked Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I'm on a whiskey diet. I've lost three days already. And my current favourite.............. I went to the zoo the other day, there was only one dog in it. It was a shitzu.
  22. @Joanne - I've just emailed the link to the BBC Education website to all teaching staff and have already had 3 replies saying thanks......so a big thanks from me.
  23. @Griff - I've got a mix of original and cheaper alternatives. I've had a couple of cheaper ones that just weren't up to the job, but I've also got a couple that are just as good as the originals.....but are a third of the price. As @rad said....depending on what you're doing tether it off with some string, I nearly lost mine when kite boarding.
  24. @SiliconAlley_Sam - he didn't mind at all, but he is a pretty laid back type of dog. I initially attached it to his collar (he's a big dog!) but it bounced about too much. The next time I tried it I borrowed a harness from a friend who's a police dog handler and attached it to that so that it was sat on his chest (just below his neck)....that produced some great footage.
