I have one Dell AMD Server which i inherited from a school as part of the Trust, and is my love hate relationship with dell! I recall when i first upgraded the server to 2019 and enabled the Hyper-V role there was a boot loop issue which got resolved eventually. I'm now trying to upgrade the server to 2022, and whether I install clean or run the upgrade from within 2019, as soon as I enable the hyper-v role it BSOD with CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT The server remains stable on server 2022, however as soon as I enable the Hyper-V role and it does it's reboots, I get the BSOD. Any ideas?

I see that windows 10 EDU support will end in 2025 and Windows 12 is scheduled for next year, so look like I may start the migration to windows 11 this year and the next version of office., so windows 11 and Office 365. I've been reading about shared computer activation for Microsoft 365 Apps. Am i right in that if for whatever reason the machine cannot access the internet, then users won't be able to use office at all? Currently with 2019 users can still use it due to KMS but see moving forward things are going to be cloud activated for each user when they login.

I have a mixture of orange and aqua om3 fibre patch leads from a core switch and trying to determine what if anything is the difference. Online everything I find says that orange is OM2 but the actual cables say 50/125 OM3 Is there actually any difference between orange and aqua om3 cables or is it just preference or having orange in the early days then they changed to aqua

With sever 2019 Hyper-V hosts I used Teaming with LACP and link aggregation configured on the core switch with the 4 links to the server. With server 2022 I believe this now uses Switch Embedded teaming which is setup via powershell. Do i still need to use LACP on the core switch or do i just delete this and use the Switch embedded teaming for load balancing/redundancy or is there a way to set the team at an LACP team via powershell?

Why do you need to copy the client to another share? We just point to the client exe that runs at login so whenever the server gets updated the clients just automatically run the new version client and keeps the old versions on the local disk.

I was advised that you need 2 different queues for different manufacturers. We have a fleet of samsung machines and whilst one was repaired, swapped for a Konica. Whilst the driver worked and the documents prints, we then had 1 additional page printed after the job with a PCL error. For the duration of the loan copier, we put up with the extra page rather than creating another queue for different parts of the school as all users use any copier, however I was informed that the follow-me queue all needs to have the same manufacturer hardware.

Answered by own question I think as related to when the password was last reset. Did in a test environment, but then realised the error has been showing before the password change today so was there before the change. In my production environment I'm not seeing this event, so should be ok to change.

As per security recommendations, I have reset the AD Kerberos password ONCE as recommended to allow it to sync through for x number of hours before changing again. I was looking for the change in the event log, but have however got event 42 and the below The Kerberos Key Distribution Center lacks strong keys for account krbtgt.You must update the password of this account to prevent use of insecure cryptography. I've already updated the password once, so what do i need to do , as understand resetting twice in succession can break things before it syncs through the network devices. thanks.

Do you have any NAT rules? I use Uptime robot that monitors IIS on an external IP, if it down, the physical WAN link is down. Our internal monitoring emails me if our proxy goes down and there's no internet, but the WAN line can still be up, sends email to 365, then can send me a text via textmagic if required.

Our web filter has a captive portal page built in to download the certificate before logging in with credentials. Disabling SSL interception will limit the visibility and filtering capability of the gateway, however are schools required to provide filtered guest WiFi or can it be clean open?

We have a secure guest WiFi for external guest users, however we find more and more laptops locked down so we cannot install the certificate. They seem to expect to be able to come in, enter a password to a guest network and access. What does everyone else have setup in this situation? I could get a business standard line installed, VLAN it off as another SSID , but wondered if anyone else does this , or how you get around certificate issues.

Hi I have both upgraded and clean installed some HP servers both ML350 and DL360 systems from server 2019 to 2022. Whilst on server 2019 all the servers monitored fine by using PRTG network monitor via SNMP to monitor logical disks, physical disk and overall health status. When servers have been in-place upgraded or doing a fresh install of server 2022 on the same servers and making sure both systems all have the same installs, versions etc, when on server 2022 it will not detect any of the components via SNMP to monitor. However if i launch iLO or system management homepage, it shows all the hard drives etc and component status. I cannot work out why on server 2022 SNMP isnt working properly, but is when the same hardware on 2019. On 2022 it will pick up CPU, Network adapters, memory , etc but not overall heath or disk drive status. Anyone ever had this or know what could be causing it before I raise a case with prtg? thanks
