  1. Evening, this sounds like a routing issue if you are connecting ok. Suggest you take a tracert and send it to support who will look into it for you. Thanks Dave
  2. well i suspect they'll also work with our service so if you would like a quote for broadband and / or SIP then do let me know Dave
  3. what phones do you have? They may be able to be factory reset and used on another providers VoIP solution? Dave
  4. Thanks @synaesthesia since the Fortinet and Netsweeper solution has been rolled out 6 months ago we've had 100% uptime on both including any routers connected to them. It's essentially a completely new platform. Dave
  5. @clockend25 that's correct ref Radius for the moment. Netsweeper does work with Radius but our design implementation to scale and be resilient means that the proxy servers have to sit outside of the NAT which I'm told means that Radius won't yet work. We are working with Netsweeper on a software upgrade to allow Radius to work in full. @Primus we do not make vast sums of money. We have just invested about £500,000 into our new Netsweeper platform. This has been a very strategic investment which will allow us to be able to filter and protect a much higher amount of bandwidth (we anticipate a huge increase over the next 2 years) which we couldn't do on our existing platform. We are a very important customer for Netsweeper and we're both working on a lot of additional features which you will see on our Netsweeper deployment before others. I should also point out (and I don't mean this to brag as that's not my style) but last year we won Best Security at the Internet Service Provider Awards for our hosted Fortigate and filtering platform as well as Best Use of Business Cloud a couple of years ago for the same thing due to the level of security and protection of staff and children. Finally we have been doing AD and other auth integration with advanced reporting for years as standard. Far longer than our biggest competitors in the market and most Local Authorities. You'd be surprised how many schools (primary in particular) still don't have any easy / decent way of telling who the end user actually is. Our new Netsweeper platform is coming on leaps and bounds and thus far in 6 months has 100% uptime which is what we were trying to address and aim for due to historic issues affecting our previous vendors. Yes it takes a while for our customers, partners and our own engineers to fully learn the intricacies of the product but we're certainly getting there and are now having a lot of positive comments on increased speed, better reporting, no downtime. There's still some way to go of course and we've a lot coming up in the development roadmap which we'll keep you all up to date with as and when it's here. Thanks to all of our loyal supporters in particular Dave
  6. Yes it is. Both virgin and bt normally install 4 fibres and as only 1 is probably in use we can use one of the spare ones to make a new service. Quite easy. Dave
  7. This was fixed pretty quickly. It didn't affect any of the logs and only one of the web servers. It wouldn't have affected anyone's speeds as the web servers have nothing to do with the throughput of the proxies. Dave
  8. Thank you. We are already on it. It's not going to stop filtering working. Dave
  9. All affected customers will now be back online following hardware swop out of an aggregation router which is used in our Lightspeed platform. Not all Lightspeed customers were affected. No Netsweeper customers were affected also and its uptime remains at 100% We'll release the outage report via the normal channels shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Dave
  10. Correct. This is in v6 which we'll be rolling out in the summer and does LDAP lookups Dave
  11. Hi @sippo, this is already on our radar. The attack mentioned uses HTTP port access to run the exploit and compromise the routers. HTTP access is turned off on all of our Mikrotik estate therefore our customers can't be exploited by this bug / compromise. End users have no access to the routers either so can't turn this on by mistake. Our latest installs use a firmware where the bug has been fixed. As a precaution we are upgrading customers firmware where required. Thanks Dave
  12. umm he's here as he's replied in this thread earlier? If its not working do send to me and I can forward on. Dave
  13. Netsweeper currently handles BYOD differently to Lightspeed. If you PM @RobMason with a question he can get back to you on any deployment methods in particular and talk you through the best way of deploying BYOD using Netsweeper. Thanks Dave
  14. it looks like BT can only install 20 a month throughout the whole country at the moment!!! https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2018/03/fttp-demand-order-capacity-still-constrained-uk-isps.html Dave
  15. The filters have been upgraded in-line with security, feature and stability fixes recommended from Lightspeed which are now workable following changes they have made which is part of our standard maintenance processes on any vendor hardware. We will still be moving ahead as planned though. Dave
  16. We also have bandwidth stats via Talk Straight Dedicated Customer Portal if you don't have access please email CTS and they'll get this done for you. Dave
  17. Sounds very odd indeed. As you can imagine the amount of data we upload on our network is tiny compared to the amount downloaded so that is strange. It's the high latency which normally indicates the line is being maxed out. If it ever happens again try ping the next hop in a traceroute from your gateway constantly (tracert -t x.x.x.x) and if you've high latency to that then it's either your link being maxed, a carrier network issue or one of our NNI's being maxed (highly unlikely). Feel free to get me involved if need be. Dave
  18. We do have one engineer in particular that has now left the company that was doing Netsweeper installs but I don't want to / can't comment on that further for obvious reasons. If you've got any specific cases still outstanding please send me them via PM and I will take it up with the TBT manager. Thanks Dave
  19. Hi @fiza We have multiple clusters of Rockets. Each cluster can use the same IP address as another cluster but you can't have say 192.168.0.0/24 more than once on the same cluster. At the time you came over it would guess that all of our clusters had that IP range taken already, hence why we needed you to change it. We kept this to an absolute minimum in the past where possible. With Netsweeper it doesn't matter. All customers can use whatever internally IP addresses they like, so no need to reconfigure a new customers network to work with our service from an IP address point of view. Dave
  20. I suspect you were probably hammering your connection as that's what high latency normally indicates. Time to get a bigger pipe maybe No Talk Talk or Netsweeper issues on our network at all at the moment Dave
  21. Hi guys, we sent the email through to all of our customers. I wonder if your spam filter false positive it or you were not on the list for some reason. I'll post the upgrade maintenance email on here shortly as the rest are getting done this week. Thanks Dave
  22. We're in the process of upgrading all filters to v3. When this happens you will lose connectivity until the upgrade is complete. Everyone should have been notified though as to when your filter is being upgraded via our standard maintenance notifications. Dave
  23. Hi all, FTTPod does not come in an 80/20 variant, FTTP WBC does though. FTTPod starts with the minimum speed being 160Mbit download and 30Mbit upload and goes up to 1Gbit download and 220Mbit upload. FTTPod is also more expensive wholesale rental costs than FTTP WBC. Considerably more in fact. If you can get FTTP WBC (as I very fortunately can at my house) then its an absolute bargain and I'd urge all primary schools to get it. FTTPoD though is expensive to install, expensive to rent and takes and age to install if you can actually afford the installation! Dave
  24. PM'd I'm sure we've a few schools in Staffordshire already using our service. It's highly likely you can re-use your current phones on our own SIP service and we can help you migrate whether using our broadband or not. If you are using our broadband then we have a number of free phones we can put so you don't need to buy any too and we'd bundle this into the broadband costs. Thanks Dave
