When it works it says in the look in drop down box \\servername\users$\year\username thats fine when you click on up one level it goes to the mapped drives then to the desktop and stops. 8. I have been trying to redirect my documents for two days now. Basically all i want to do is when a user opens word is see their home directory. The folder structure we have: Root >> Users (shared) >> Folder (for each year group) >> Home Directories e:\users$\year9\user I think i have got my permissions correct. Some times it works and then the user logs off then logs on later in the day at the same workstation and they have no home directory. Also I want the users to stop being able to browse the network by either the drop down menu or selecting the up one level button by the dialogue box within word. I am making hard work of this but any help would be much appreciated. I know i have already posted this topic before but i need help Thanks Faza

  24. Hello We have got Mandatory profiles setup, We want to change the desktop on the pupil domain for a festive one. Normally I would go to the wallpaper folder drop an image in and then configure the AD to the new image. But now I have changed to Mandatory profiles it does not work. The only way I can get the new wallpaper to show is by removing the profile path out of the student’s accounts in the AD. Does that mean that I will need to create a new Mandatory profile to incorporate the new image???? I don’t think I would need every time I want to change the wallpaper I create a new Mandatory profile. Surely you just need to change the location in the AD and it should pick it up. I am unsure where the wallpaper is currently saved as it is definitely not saved in that location as if you change it, it does not take affect. Any ideas or pointers would be great!!! Faza
