I've had users deactivated even though they're using Google Authenticator. We use SIMS Connected (don't start!) but staff can use SIMS even if they're unable to get in to CPOMS. What a nightmare this MFA rollout has been!

All, From what I understand, the "red" interface card in our school guardian has died, a contractor cut a cable and the card no longer works. To add to my headache, my smoothwall man has left under less than ideal circumstances, taking documentation, contacts etc with him (HR are dealing with him as I type!). If I drop a new PCI ethernet card in, how can I configure the new interface? I've already tried adding and configuring a new interface but I cannot fathom out what I am doing wrong, it's just not "working" - i.e no machines behind the smoothwall can get a web connection. The new ethernet cable works fine, so everything before the smoothwall works fine. Thanks

Do you have Ranger Remote Control/NSM installed? AFAIR NSM installs a video driver, GDIHOOK or something similar, it could be this that is causing it?

I've had a few laptops do this, and this is the solution I came accross, but it is a bit strange. Remove the battery and the AC power, then try turning it on a few times. Re attach the battery and the AC, then try turning it back on again. Not guaranteed to work, but i've had success on Apple, HP and some generic notebooks.

Hi all, I've got a DVD RW drive from a laptop we had to scrap. Does anyone know of any slim line external USB caddies I could plug it into? Would make life easy when having to do large backups for people with stand alone machines. Ta, Dan
