Standard format really, thats all my query was i guess. Is it worth migrating and what are the effects to 2003, or should I just generate 2010 Versions from scratch.
-
But without any 2010 compatible recipient policies when I migrate users it won't auto generate the same email addresses will it?
-
We have 2010 Exchange setup along side our existing 2003 Exchange box, I have a test account on 2010 and it all works tidy, As part of the migration you have to convert the OAB/Recipient policies and Address books into the new 2010 format. Will this then render account creation useless via 2003? Will 2003 users still see the address books - presumably over the routing connector they will? Basically at what point are we forced to move to 2010 for user account management, and how necessary is migrating the mailboxes at this point? Ideally I want to migrate people as and when rather then in bulk. Cheers!

Nottingam 1C1N Migration
PRicho replied to Hawkeyez's topic in East Midlands Broadband Consortium (EMBC)
Filter system is very dodgy at the moment, No end of emails being blocked - Application forms for an IT Tech job here can't even get through! Has everybody been swapped over to there new routers yet for 1C1N? we are still on the old cisco box. -

Unplug the card reader!! We have a Stone Eval machine... same issue same mobo.

Tidy, worked for IE and Firefox, Chrome still not happy. Cheers!

We have been using OWA via ISA 2006 for 3 years, but only recently has this issue appeared! When you logon to OWA via the external access it authenticates fine, but if you click an email or use the left hand nav panel the FBA from ISA appears on the right hand side, the nav panal is still displayed, but you need to re authenticate to see the content. Like double authentication It can work for 5mins.. but eventually it will require you to re authenticate... other times its more immediate. Adding it to the trusted sites in IE temporally fixes the issue so am thinking its an SSL issue? like many on here we use ipsca as our wildcard cert provider. Wasnt sure if it was a bridging problem to our Exchange server as thats still on a cert assigned from our internal CA, ISA publishing rule forwards to the FQDN of our exchange server and the cert CN is the FQDN. Cheers for any help!

as above, add the internal path to isa and also.. have you set the proxy address on your wifi connection on your iphone, so it can go out to come back in.. so to speak.

Think you've cracked it! Very strange, but it looks like the 'close lid sensor' from the laptop below is causing the top one to think its closed. Not an issue for teachers just a strange one for us techies when short of desk space
-
Just brought a batch of these and they have a VERY strange issue I thought id post to warn you about. If you stack the laptops ontop of an identical laptop, as is often the case in our jobs when prepping new laptops.. they will not power on. If you lift the laptop up or move it an inch forward back left or right it works! Once you power the unit, and then place it back square ontop of a laptop, the backlight will go off, until you lift it.. or move it. Simple fix is don't stack Toshiba L450 Laptops!! Completely random problem, Must be some kind of interference!?!

Boo! no 2008 Servers here unfortunetly.

Tried that! our Pc names are rooms specific but i even tried the hand on the keyboard random Naming convention. I'll look into this, be worth checking the script out. Was this macbook part of an image too? The room needed to be finished for today so the machines are bound to the new OD server and we have scrapped the AD side for now :/
-
Yep sorry forgot to mention. Update: After abit more flapping this morning it definitely seems to be a Image related problem. I've been working on 1 Mac trying to get it stay connected after a reboot, only after turning all the other machines off would it then connect. Strange how it only effects the AD bind not the OD. The machines register individually in our DNS and all bind to AD independently with no conflicts.
-
Trying to bind Cloned iMacs and MacMini's to AD keep failing! they bind to AD fine but a handful of them loose it on a reboot, network status on the logon screen says "some network accounts are available" which is OD. Directory Utility shows the AD Domain cant be found. Pinging the domain works fine and if i goto the network settings and amend the search domain (retype whats already there), then go back to directory utility its appears as connected, which points to a network issue? but only on certain machines Because they were cloned, i've ran the these below commands to reset the KDC to stop duplicated machine names. sudo rm -fr /var/db/krb5kdc sudo /usr/libexec/configureLocalKDC Is there anything else that should be done Post Image other then the above that could prevent communication to AD?! cheers:)

Is there anyway once you mount a item/share you can make it appear in the Devices list within Finder? When students goto save work they currently have to navigate via the shares server.. find the folder etc. Be nice if they had quick access!
