ok in that case; log off as user login as admin check there are no local profiles check the registry again remove the ntuser.dat, ntuser.ini and ntuser.pol files from the profile location on the server and then login again you will need to setup the account again eg outlook etc but it should stop temp profile
-
Hi, Have you cleared the profile from the register? HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current version\Profile List\(user SID) Look in each GUID listed for the user you are having an issue with, it should list the user logged on and remove the USER SID for that user.

Has anyone tried setting up a trunk on one of these switches? if so did it work and how did you set it up? I have one of these and have tried setting up a trunk but I'm missing something I'm sure. Through gui port management>setup select ports and set link type to trunk. What am I missing? haven't used one of these types of switches before normally purchase fully managed procurves.

Script to delete NTUSER.DAT file from server
cneilson6 replied to cneilson6's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
I know which policy you are refering to but this only removes profiles form the local machine and not from the server, plus i only want it to remove the ntuser.dat file and not the whole profile as this slow the login down. -
Hi Does anyone have a script to delete the NTUSER.DAT file from the server on logoff? At present we have a problem when students log off that the file gets corrupted and next time they try to login that are unable able to and get the message group policy service failed the logon access is denied. I have tried to stop this happening but at present i am unable to stop it, so we are stuck reseting profiles when it happens so i'm looking for a script that will do this automactically when the students log off.

Acceptable Use Policy splash page for windows 7 ?

Any ideas on this 1? Since we have come back after the holidays our filestore has been sat around 100% CPU and is causing major network slowness, we have identified that it is being caused by the Macs as we have stopped all students logging on too them and cpu usage has dropped down to around 5% with a few hundred users still logged in to the windows pc's. As soon as we log a classroom of macs on the cpu spikes even thought they are just sat doing nothing??

Don't know if you'll have seen this before but heres somewhere i always look for my bits LambdaTek Computing

Ok after a long time searching and thinking about it... i realised there was a very easy way of doing it. Access the user and groups on the laptop, within users group remove domain\domain users. Problem solved domain admins can still log in which is good and any user that try is given a message to contact support, local accounts can log on fine. Don't know why i didn't see that before.

Sorry should have mentioned that windows 7

Does anyone now how to clear the database? or where i can get the password to get into the database? we are wanting to send out an updated version of the policy out to all users but at present i am unable to find out how to do this.
-
Hi are you using roaming or mandatory profiles? it sounds similar to an error you get if when using roaming profiles the user does not have a .v2 profile.

We have right click disabled for students but enabled for staff. Though i agree it is possible to lock down anything that might be accessed via right click it does add an extra layer of security
-
we have it set for student but not for staff. in the redirection of the desktop have you set the "target folder location" option too "redirect to the following location" ??
-
ok umm ... i thought if you redirected the desktop only items from the redirected location should be shown? In you redirection policy under "target folder location" what have you got set? it should be set to redirect to the following location and the path of your desired folder should be set below.
