Bradford have partnered with Aerohive. But agree, it is very expensive. Network Access Control (NAC) | Aerohive Networks might look at lightspeed too.

We've had nine of these projectors with the same issue over the last year or so all out of warranty. Last time an engineer came out, he said Hitachi had increased the warranty to 5 years on this model and should of emailed us with the details but had never hear anything from them. Worth a call to support. They have started swapping the projectors so you get a new projector and new lamp -
We have an vlan'd network with Aerohive kit supplying the wireless to our staff and students. We'd like to check whats on the students devices before they connect, eg. antivirus up to date, not running torrents etc. Has anyone had an experience running NAC and can recommend any products?

Most of our printers are Kyocera's. (fs1370, fs2020, fs3900 and fs9120). We have very few problems with them. Maybe over the average number of jams but nothing serious. We had two fs9100 until last year, which were in heavy usage area which had been running for 7-8 years, couldn't fault them. Would recommend using kyocera toners, found they don't like the cheaper compatible versions. 5 minutes to set up and deploy via gp.

Hi, After looking at all the commercial website (Welcome to liftshare.com » {The world's best journey matching, liftshare, car share, ride share system}, etc..) out there and getting quotes for a car sharing scheme, our senior managers decided it was too expensive and have asked me to create our own website, but has been a good few years since i looked at sql/database and website creation. Has anyone got any ideas where to start? i think we'd be looking for a log on page, a page where they can enter there journey details and some sort of search. Any help would be great cheers.

Our students use shared folders to store there work. But Ive noticed that once in a while teachers will call up and report that students folders missing and there is only the file they were working on left. If you log the users off and back on the again the files are still there and will be fine for the rest of the day. It can effect one student but the student on the computer next to them is fine. On the server, it looks like it is just wiping all the open files in shared folder, but keeps all the sessions.

Cheers, yeah for custom made ones we were looking at £200-£300. Will look into cable management. Might try and get a trip to Ikea out of it for research purposes

We use wix.com. Really a flash website builder, but we've made the website slightly bigger then the screen to hide the wix logos. Plug an old laptop with web access to the screen. Got the weather, bbc news highlights and a slideshow showing at the moment. Set IE to reflesh every 10 minutes.

Hi, Our lovely IT students love playing minecraft, but we cant figure out a way to block the Java program without effect the rest of windows. Normally we would block the exe of a game via sophos application control, but doesn't seem to work on this. Any ideas?

Thanks rrichmond, that works a treat. no more firefox portable here

Hi, We've always blocked web based emails like hotmail and yahoo, because we give all students there own email addresses when they join. We are looking at changing this, just wondering what you guys think are the pro's and con's of allowing these websites.
