The majority of mine are off the network. When i have tried to set them up like that ive not had much luck (my fault probably!). Sophos seems to do its job, but then i think a lot of our staff use them more at home then in school anyway as they have PCs in there rooms. Do your staff move around a lot?

No unfortunately they dont have access at the moment. They use redirected desktops/Start Menu. Wow...GPP. Guess this is a w2k8 thing! Awesome....*goes to play*.

Is there a way i can make these available to the students via GPO? Maybe a shortcut on their desktop? Having a go now but havent had much success. Thanks

Ok, for part of my Foundation Degree I've got to do a bit on evaluating website searches and then do a bibliography blah blah blah (this is just a module preparing us for our dissertation)..... So, at my fingertips i have millions upon millions of websites...but can i think of one, NO! I have considered the Geek obviously but i could do with more. Doesn't need to be IT related. So i need a list of websites for me to evaluate. I need to look at 5 things... Who: who is the author/publisher? Who is the information intended for? What: what kind of source is it? Is it reliable? Why: why has it been produced. Is it biased? Is it intended for commercial use? Where: where was the source published? When: when was the information made available? How current is it? Ta!

Ok, was setting up SIMS on classroom workstation. Got distracted when pasting connect.ini and pasted over the one on the S Drive where SIMS lives instead of the local one. So what should the one on the server say and what should the one on the workstation say? Thanks lol

As my efforts to put XP Pro on my new netbooks has failed (http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/87315-putting-xp-pro-toshiba-nb500.html) I need to look at purchasing Windows 7 and my budget isnt great. Does anyone know of where i can get the media and license for a decent price. Ta

All very true. Just asking for experience really cus a quick half hour on the phone in a shop can be completely different to your experience 3 weeks later.

Considering getting a phone for my OH. He's currently got an old Nokia which is on its last legs. He's not a technophobe and is competant (had a good teacher ) but lacks patience. Its probably time he moved onto a smart phone with touch screen as thats pretty much all you can get unless you get a Blackberry (unless you know otherwise). I'll spend up to £150 on it, it cant be laggy as it'll end up out the window. He's not interested in any fancy functions, its most important feature is the phone!.....and maybe SliceIt! lol So, anyone recommend a good phone? Is the Wildfire S any goo d. I liked my Wildfire but as its entry level, it had its slow moments.

gah. if i try to install drivers ftom the intel site i get the error

I've tried both ways North-ict. Still no luck....

"Computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software"

Now, yes this is a Windows 7 machine (starter) but i managed to sort all drivers barr one, the graphics driver. It's an Intel GMA 3150. If i install it from the Intel site is says that its not been provided by the manufacturer or something like that. So if i go to the Toshiba site it only lists the Win 7 version and that just doesnt install properly. Any suggestions? apart from sticking to Win 7 and upgrading. I'm well aware of that! lol

Does anyone know a site in the depths of the internet that sells the Rock Band 3 keyboards for a reasonable price? I could kick my OH as it was in the Black Friday sale but he wasnt interested at the time lol! The few ive found are stupidly priced!
