@GrumbleDook what you have said there has flagged a question in my mind. Like some other people on here I setup my machines and take an image for distribution. Even though Realplayer is already registered on my image, do i still need to go around and register realplayer on each machine its installed on?

bump anyone have any suggestions other than whats been mentioned? cheers

Alright gang! is it possible to create extra groups i.e. Staff and Students. I was just creating a STAFFROOM page, so our admin babe can update the minutes from the staff morning meeting, and suddenly thought to me self.... doooooh!!! the kids and general public would be able to see. any idea how i can go about it. cheers

Im going to be doing installing premier in the next few weeks. my idea is this install a seperate sata drive in eah computer (60) and allow the kids to store and work from these drives with premier. then at scheduled times during the evening, have 20 computers at a time switch on and back up the projects to a NAS server. and then have. I think USB drives will end up been damaged after a while. comments?

yep create a script to WOL the machines then would you set a scheduled job to backup on the machines or the server. Im thinking server, so its easier to manage from a central location. does anyone agree or have a diffrent approach?

Ok Im going to install sata drives on the machines. after reading what you all have said it seems what i thought would be ok is going to be expensive and not practical for the school enviroment. May be i could have them all SYNC once a week to a nas server.

there will be times where upto 60 users will be working on premier

also does freenas support ntfs. I would need set permissions for each user folder
